Brad Stevens can now experiment with a bigger line-up,  Starting line-up of Smart/(Pritchard),Brown,Tatum,Kornet & TL, size and shooting is there.. coming off the bench  Walker,Fournier,Grant,MoSwag, Thompson..
I don't see Brad doing major experimenting at this point. He used Wagner and Kornet because Thompson is out and, as was painfully obvious in Milwaukee, Tacko is not an NBA caliber player and is quite unplayable.

Once Thompson, Langford and Fournier return the rotation is most likely:

Kemba, Brown, Fournier, Tatum and Timelord to start

Smart, Pritchard, Thompson, Semi, Grant and maybe either Langford or Nesmith.

I don't see Wagner or Kornet getting regular rotational minutes once the team is healthy. Heck, Langford and/or Nesmith might not be in the rotation.

Lots of home games. Team getting healthy. Time to shorten the rotation and rack up a bunch of wins. Experimentation time is over.

Kornet is at least 5or 6 inches taller than Thompson or TIMELORD. I think he has his uses against big centers. He can also stretch the floor better than either of those guys. He just brings a whole other skill set.
Kornet has only been on bad teams and has never played consistently good basketball. In 4 years.

I wouldn't expect Kornet to match what he did against OKC. A lot of the hype for Kornet is based on one good quarter of play.

He might get some minutes here or there but he won't be a rotational player once everyone is healthy. Either he or Wagner will be the third string center but I don't expect that third stringer to get regular minutes this year, or next.

I think it will depend on match ups. Kornet matches up well against bigger  centers. I watched Kornet play some good games for the Knicks. You're right he has never played for a good team but he has some skill and brings things to the table that TIMELORD and Thompson just don't. He matched up well against Brown who is a big 7'2" guy. One of the other things I liked about Kornet in the 4th was how his team mates and coach trusted him right off the bat in what was at the time still a close game.

I guess I just see him differently. He is pretty immobile. He is a terrible rebounder for his size(Jaylen Brown is a better rebounder and he plays SG). For me, if you are 7 feet tall or taller, you best be a great rebounder and an inside defensive presence. He blocks shots but is overall a bad defender. Hence, against the best of bigs, I don't see him being any more effective than Timelord or Thompson.

I think he just had a good quarter and fans are over reacting to it.

That's been my read of him too, but Brad came out and said that they've rated his PnR defence for a while, so maybe they see something I've missed (disclaimer: have not ever paid him much attention)

I'm not saying he's more effective than TIMELORD or Thompson. I still think TIMELORD is our best big. I'm saying situationally that a 7'2" center that can shoot the 3 offers a different look than a 6'8" center that can't. There is no question that Thompson and TIMELORD are much much better players. I think Brad brought him in to just box and bother Moses Brown and it worked. I don't think Kornet is even playable against some NBA centers but if he can hit that 3 at even a 35% clip which the did in his first two years in New York that is a useful guy to have on your bench.

Kornet in the 2018-19 season with the Knicks had in a stretch of nine games where he started (due to the Knicks starting center being injured) of 24,14,19,23, and 16 points!  He was drawing raves back then for his play and I only remember it because I play DFS and he was a must in peoples lineups as an inexpensive value play!  Overall he's not starting NBA material, but he's by no means a stiff.  I don't IMHO think his play against OKC was anything that he can't give us on a pretty consistent basis.

Interesting, I didn't know much about him, but did follow Wagner a little, specially leading up to the 18 draft.  He went two picks ahead of RWill.  I thought if he was still on the board, he might have been the pick.

Kornet played two years for the Knicks and 1.5 season for Chicago.  If he couldn't get on the floor for those bad teams I don't really think he's going to be a diamond in the rough.  He's been a 15mpg backup player.  While you need those guys I don't think he's going to be much more then that.
