Brad Stevens' teams have been successful with a ball-dominant shoot-first point guard and a facilitator at another position. Considering the success we had with IT and Kyrie (until his selfishness got out of hand), along with the help that we had from Hayward facilitating the offense last year, does it make sense to try to acquire Horford and try to fill in the bench with a shooter, like Fournier?
I am wondering what the price would be to obtain Horford and have him slot in under the trade exception. Then we can figure out how to unload Theis or Thompson for a shooter.
I know we are not close to competing, but how much would the Horford dynamic move the needle? He knows the system and I would imagine that having him play with Kemba would be similar to how he played with IT or Kyrie. The Jays would also benefit from having someone facilitate the offense in the half court. As a side benefit, does he also have experience playing with Teague?
I'm just curious what people think and why we have not heard more rumblings about this.
