Hmm.  I like Theis a lot, but who is giving him $15 million per year?
perhaps the same type of GM who gave Rozier $19 million.

if you look at theis stats (not just the usual counting ones) he is one of the more efficient and productive centers in the NBA. he is not a super star, but you don't pay superstars $15 million today.

But as was proven in the Heat series, put him against a top level big and he becomes a guy you can't win with. Regular season he's fine.

He'd definitely be worth $15 million on the open market. Many teams would love to get to the point where they get eliminated by a superior big in the playoffs. It would mean they at least made the playoffs.

A better player (and fit) who doesn't just fill a stat sheet on a g-league team at a better price.

Theis is at best a poor second stringer in my eyes.

I could see Theis getting a TT type contract MLE for two years; that is the max I see him getting.

At this point, the only deals I would make would be for Vuc or Collins (if they believe he is max-worthy as you have to assume someone will offer it). Multiple late picks and guys like Langford/Nesmith are replaceable. Getting elite talent like they have isn’t easy.

If it doesn’t cost Pritchard and/or R. Williams, I’d do it.

Guys like Barnes, Aldridge, etc are not difference-makers, so why bother?

There is no point in trying to compete this year and overpaying. Our team is too young. Just be patient and wait a year.

That's what this team has been doing since 2017. At this point, what are we even waiting for. You got to compete and win now. Otherwise, constant losing equates to the J's leaving the C's for greener pastures.

Right? It’s almost like being 2 years away from being 2 years away isn’t a great strategy. Cs can sit in mediocrity as new super teams continue to be built.

First it was the Warriors, now the Nets. Whose next as we sit idly by and wait for the Js to leave town in 4 years?

Then it’ll be the sixers. Then someone will eventually join Luka  then an amazing rookie will show up in 2-3 years and people will be talking about how that rookie is only 19 lol. And so it goes

You gotta take championships. Not wait for them to be convenient.

It's probably like 3 picks and two pick swaps.  That seems to be the standard "Do you really want to make this trade?" demand from teams considering moving their main guy.
