His career DRTG 108. Kemba Walker is 109, 109. Even Tatum is only 109, 105. It seems like you seem to not really understand what that measures.

I think Markannen would be great in Boston. He’s not a center, so we need to banish those thoughts, but he could be a really good scoring/stretch four that plays off of Brown and Tatum.
Not trading Smart for a player of Markkanen's caliber, no matter how much I'd like to see the Celts find a true pick and pop threat to play off J&J.Also this trade would mean giving up two solid rotation players to add one solid rotation player at a position where the Celts already have too many players. The Celts need to add MORE quality rotation players.

You fill out the rotation once you have a good enough core. Boston doesn't have a good enough core.

I love Markkanen. He could be one of the very best offensive players in the league if he played the center position instead of as a forward. He would be a matchup nigthmare at center with his speed and shooting ability. He would enhance and enable everyone around him to be more effective because of how he would imbalance opposing team's defenses with his scoring & shooting as a center. I see him as a modern day Bob McAdoo as a small ball center.
