4th and 1 and Mac Jones goes for the long ball...and fails. What a disaster

You think Mac did an audible? I think that was just the play McDaniels called.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Mac seems to be getting into a rhythm. Maybe if they let him pass more than 10 times in the first half, he could have gotten the rust off and put up points earlier in the game.

Signs of life. Carson Wentz with a pick to DMac. Patriots ball mid-field down 20-7

More conservative play calling with that FG. Not that much time left in the game.

Great catch by Harry. That is the type of contested catch I expected to see from him when he was drafted.

Win or lose, Jones has shown the Pats have a QB that could get them to a SuperBowl title sometime in the near future

McCourty and Hightower unblocked and they still manage to give up a 60-some yd td run to seal the loss. Terrible.

This loss is on the Pats coaching staff. Horrible game plan going into it. Colts said they were going to stuff the line and force Mac to throw. So what do the Pats do? Throw 10 times in the first half and put up zero  :-[points going into halftime. Mac wasn’t involved in the offense for a game and a half and was rusty. Shocking. Pats played slow for most of the 4th and kicked that FG instead of going for a TD. More conservative play. Good luck beating good teams playing like that.

Pretty bad game overall for NE. Sucky offense for three quarters. Defense gave up an average of more than 7 yards on first downs. Special teams allowing a blocked-punt TD. And too many penalties. Bye week did this team zero good.

Tough loss. Not making any excuses for it, the Colts clearly wanted it more and were the better team.

What I will say though is, I was encouraged by Mac's fight in the 4th quarter and the poise he showed even though he's a rookie. Especially in a hostile road environment like Indy. Also, it felt like EVERYTHING went against the Pats yet despite that, they were only down 3 late in the 4th quarter. This team isn't easy to beat and they won't go down without a fight.

But like I said in the previous page, I thought not getting any points right before the half (b/c of Mac's INT) was killer and it ended up being so. I mean, even a FG there and maybe instead of being down 2 scores in the 4th, they could have been tied late and it's a different game overall.

Oh well. On to Buffalo!
