West and East reserves (format - 2 guards, 3 F/C and 2 wildcards)

There are going to be some tight races. Like between Paul, Booker, Lillard, Mitchell. Will Zion sneak in?

From the east Sabonis, Randle, Young, Lavine, Van Vleet, Simmons are all on the bubble

The official announcement will be made tonight on TNT

Is Brown slipping? I want him to be an all star but also want him to rest and heal. Very torn on this lol

His last 3 games hasnt been his best. But he still has impressive overall stats. He leads in plus and minus among guards I believe

At the F/C spots there is challenge for Tatum from Sabonis and Randle (in addition to Bam, Simmons, Middleton). Both are having strong seasons, especially Randle.  Sabonis had a triple double game on the 17th. Terrific game

Believe he is a lock. He is at 25.5 5 and 4 with good shooting splits and at least average defense. Many had him as a starter.

I wont believe it until I see it in writing

I thought Brown deserved to make a reserve spot last season.

Sometimes your own coaches could accidentally be the tie breaker. So I hope Brad doesn't pick Trey Young

3 F/C - Tatum, Adebayo, Middleton
2 Wildcards - Young, Sabonis
Near Miss - Simmons, LaVine, Vucevic, Grant

West Starters

2 guards - Lillard, Paul
3 F/C - Gobert, George, Zion
2 wildcards - Mitchell, Booker
Near Miss - SGA, Conley, Davis, Fox
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Brown over Tatum if only one can make it. Brown was 2nd in media voting and 5th in fan voting for back court - although I think coaches would select him over Lavine. Not sure if we'll get two since our record is less than stellar, but statistically they both should. Tatum was 4th in front court voting and 5th in media voting. There should be 7ish front court spots (including starters) so he would have to be left out on purpose. With my green-tinted glasses, I go:

East: Tatum, Adebayo, Randle, Sabonis, Brown, Harden, Trae

West: AD, George, Zion, Gobert, Lillard, Mitchell, Booker

The thing is the media and fan voting goes out the window .... it depends on what the coaches think (reserves). What they have seen on the court and/or how these players torched their teams

The Celts record slipping to .500 (or below) could be a case against them having two representatives too.
Yup

  • Let's Go Celtics!
They both should make it, but our record keeps them both from being a lock.

Given that its up to the coaches, Tatum may have the edge. Brown is improving rapidly but we saw last game with Tatum being blitzed, he's still the guy coaches gameplan to stop.

Sabonis over Randle though?
It's pretty tight in terms of what they've done on the court. Randle is the better scorer, Sabonis is the better rebounder (mainly offensive rebounding). In defence and passing they're almost identical.

So for me it's basically who I like to watch play more, especially given their records are almost identical. Would happily go either way
