I know Randle has been debated.  I don't know the answer.  Just throwing out one of those desperation trades to gauge people's level of appreciation or non appreciation for Julius Randle.

Kemba, Robert Williams, Grant Williams, Semi Ojeleye

for

Randle, Quickley, Burks

Why would the Knicks do that?  Why are they including Quickley?

If Ainge makes this happen without including 4 unprotected first rounders ... I am starting a go fund me page for building a Danny Ainge museum on Newbury Street lol

That was my question.  Has Randle arrived?  Do people still dislike his defense and iso style?

Yeah I don’t think this particular trade is it... but a case can be made that the Knicks are gonna win too much with Thibs when they should be positioning for a good, deep draft with few teams really tanking. Ship off Randle who is not the long-term answer, increase odds in the lottery.

I'd love Randle on this team.  I was hoping they chose him in 2014 when they picked Smart.

He would most likely make a nice addition.

I just see no way that if the Knicks made him available that the Celtics would best other teams trade proposals. And, I think the Knicks love the guy for what he brings for what he makes and won't be trading him.

The other thing we have to remember about trading for Randle, we might not be able to use the TPE on him as and might need to salary match, maybe even send out more than Randle's salary, because, I believe the Knicks are really close to the minimum team salary number.

For instance, a Nesmith, Grant, TPE and picks trade might not work since the loss of salary would put NY well below the minimum team salary number.

Maybe you make it a three way with Oubre going to NY with a GSW pick(s). NY stays above the min salary line, get 2 prospects and picks from Boston, pick(s) for taking on Oubre, GSW gets luxury tax relief, Boston gets Randle.

And people thought I was silly to want to flip Kemba for Randle in the offseason ;)

I don't know if Randle's shooting improvements can be sustained (41% on 4+ attempts a game), but he's that exact high-post playmaker we've been missing.

However, there's no way known to man that the Knicks would throw in Quickley. That'd be like us throwing in Pritchard to a deal. It would be hard prying Randle from them in general given how well they're playing

This topic infuriates me. Highest upside picks were Randle who also had a high floor. And Lavine who had a very low floor and high ceiling.

I banged the table for Randle. And people slammed nhis no.defence. well here we are. Randle is way better and fills a bigger need. Im shocked.

If it had been up to me we would have signed Randle last year instead of Walker...
Then again, we would also have had Thomas Bryant who's sidelined with a torn ACL.

He probably would not still be on the team if we'd drafted him. Look at Olynyk and Rozier - both left to chase paydays, as Randle did. Given Randle has only become an All-Star level player now, doubt he stays

Height wise, he certainly fits the bill at 6’8”. Any taller and it would be a hard No. #SmallBall  8)

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

If Ainge pulled that trade off he'd have a statue on Causeway and the Knicks GM would be fired on the spot.

Remove Quickly and add a couple of firsts and maybe it's doable.

Honestly, though. This is the best the Knicks have looked in the last 10+ years.  Why on earth would they trade away their best player....Also, Kemba would never see the court since he doesn’t play solid D. Those are the rules in the Thibs household.
