It sounds like both Blake and Drummond are looking to get out of their situations right now. Setting aside the cost of a deal for a moment, who would you rather see the Celtics try to go get?

Neither as a trade.

Either as a buyout, but preferably the guy who can still play (Drummond).

Seconded. Drummond at least knows exactly what he is and isn’t trying to remake himself. Brad could plug him into a particular role and the Celtics would presumably be better.

Drummond and a pick to TOR, Kyle Lowry to BOS, Kemba to CLE.

Why for Cleveland?

Agree.  Worth the risk if they only get the minimum on top of their buyout.

As Roy said, if either get bought out I'd be for it probably. Would trade for neither.

Drummond and a pick to TOR, Kyle Lowry to BOS, Kemba to CLE.
Cleveland's best young players are both small guards, this deal makes no sense for them
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

If Drummond gets bought out there are two teams with rooms already for him (Lakers and Nets). So why would he choose to go to a .500 team in the coldest climate?

The Clipps could use a big too.  Celtics would probably be 5th or 6th on Drummond's list.

We might be a little higher up on the list for Griffin.  We do have a ready made slot for an offensive minded PF.  The slot is a good fit for Griffin, not sure if Griffin is a good fit for the slot though at this point in his career.

As long as the Lakers doesn’t get either 2, I’m happy
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Yeah.  You would need a 4th team for Kemba.  Could probably do it, though who is giving the pick to Toronto and what is the pick.  Cleveland certainly isn't giving up a pick to move on from Drummond as they can just let him walk at the end of the year and Kemba isn't work a pick for them given they have Sexton and Garland.

Keeping the general framework in place, I came up with this 4 team trade (minor picks could be added as needed)

Boston - Lowry, Morris
Toronto - Drummond, Beverly, Langford (or G. Williams)
Cleveland - Zubac, Williams, Patterson
Los Angeles - Walker, Baynes, McGee
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

My thoughts exact, though even as a buyout I'd pass on Griffin. Sad to say but he's just cooked. I don't even think this is a "change of scenery" or "playing out of position" thing, he just looks awful on the court and on both ends now.
