Warriors need to go on a losing streak so they will trade us Green.

Green, whoever they would cut

for

Langford, G. Williams, 2021 1st, 2022 1st (swap)

If they want Semi, Edwards, or Teague, I'd gladly throw all of them in if they wanted.

Warriors need to start losing, and realizing they are better off saving a ton of money on the luxury tax.

And while I think Green is done as a core member of a title team, I think he would be great in a complimentary role for the C's.
Green and Smart would be a great duo

Green has been ridiculously bad this season.

He’s been undeniably garbage shooting and scoring, but his defence and passing is still elite.

I probably should have rephrased. Green and Smart would be a great duo if Greens salary was significantly lesser.

Yes, as a MLE or below player Green would be useful.  With $100 million or so left on his contract, not so much.

Yeah, his deal is loooong. Would rather throw the kitchen sink at Collins and pay him the same ;)

Green’s intangibles and defense are still off the charts. If we had him paired with Smart, whenever we rest two of our best three players we could matchup Smart and Green against most teams’ best two players and stuff then until our best are recharged. It would provide amazing flexibility to this team with most every matchup.

5.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 2.9 turnovers, 36.2% FG%, 18.6% 3PT%

That can be ours, at the cheap, cheap price of $99.6 million over the next 4 years.

I don't think the Warriors have any interest in trading Draymond Green.
They're are a .500+ team and in the playoffs currently.
Curry is playing like a MVP-candidate again.
Without Draymond their defense will break down, they can't lose him.

The guys who could be available for cheap are Wiggins and Oubre, not Green.

I'd like Green on the Celtics though. He can lead our defense and improve ball moving, despite his lack of scoring ability. Smart/Brown/Tatum/Green/R.Williams would be a terrifying defensive closing unit.

If the Warriors would do a massive trade to significantly reduce their taxes then it would be interesting to look at a multi-way-trade between the Magic, Warriors and Celtics. I think the Magic is exactly the team that would have interest in young wings with two-way-ability, although inconsistent like Oubre or Wiggins. The Celtics have a spare center to offer the Magic for their loss of Vucevic, they'd be compensated by picks from the Celtics.

GSW in: Fournier/G.Williams/Edwards
GSW out: Green/Oubre/Wanamaker

Magic in: Porter/Oubre/Theis/Teague + picks from Celtics/Bulls
Magic out: Vucevic/Fournier/Aminu

Celtics in: Vucevic/Green/Satoransky/Felicio/Wanamaker
Celtics out: Walker/Thompson/Theis/G.Williams/Teague/Edwards + picks

Bulls in: Walker/Thompson/Aminu
Bulls out: Porter/Satoransky/Felicio + picks

New Celtics team:

Starters: Smart/Brown/Tatum/D.Green/Vucevic
Bench: Pritchard/Satoransky/Langford/Nesmith/Ojeleye/Timelord
3rd stringers: Wanamaker/J.Green/Felicio

MLE or below? A guy as good as this iteration of Green defensively would be earning a Smart-like contract even if his offence sucked. He's definitely overpaid at 25 million per year though, he's clearly not a DPOY level defensive anchor who would command a max contract anymore.

Would his max be much different to Green’s current deal? Given Collins has no accolades boosting his max ceiling

Wouldn't use the TPE on Green, cause the tax would explode through the roof next season. Don't think it would be worth it. Salary-wise, it only makes sense if it's a 3-way deal involving Kemba. The first team that comes to mind is the Magic. I'm just spitballing here, but you get the idea.

It would be. His non-supermax deal would start at 27-28 million and climb up to ~36 million if it's a 5 year deal, which averages out as slightly more than 30 million per year.

Green is a great complimentary offensive player because he is such a good passer.  He can play off the ball very well because of that.  And he obviously has lost some defensively, but he is still an excellent to elite level defender.  He is also only in his 9th year and is still just 30 (though will be 31 soon).  Obviously he wouldn't get a 4 year, 100 million dollar contract if he was a free agent right now, but he probably get a 4 year, 80 million dollar one, because of his defensive value and offensive versatility.  So he is overpaid, but I don't think he is terribly overpaid.  He would however fill a huge void on both ends of the floor the C's as they need a 3rd playmaker and they need someone that can really guard opposing PF's (and many centers).
