Pelicans receive: Myles Turner, T.J Warren, Malcolm Brogdon, 21 1st round pick, 23 protected 1st pick

Pacers receive: Brandon Ingram, Eric Bledsoe, Jaxson Hayes

Turner
Williamson
Warren
Redick
Brogdon

For me Ingram and Zion aren’t compatible as Zion needs the ball in his hands to be effective on offence. This trade fixes the structure of the team as Turner is the perfect front court partner next to Williamson as he doesn’t clog the paint on offence because he can stretch the floor and is an effective rim protector to cover for Zion on defence. Warren and Brogdon are also great role pieces who both switchable on defence and great shooters who neither need the ball in their hands to be effective.

I don't understand the Pelicans' goals a young growing team or a lets compete for playoffs and more team. Being in the middle as a seller then a buyer in the same year iwould be strange.

Ingram and Zion seem to be pretty compatible offensively.  The Pels Offensive Rating is 8th best whereas their defensive rating is 4th worst.

Yeah, I did not understand that either. I had some concerns about how well they could play together because a lot of Ingram's success last year came in small lineups alongside 3 guards who could shoot but they have shown clearly this year that that concern is not an issue.

That Ingram can perform at a high level at SF and even in lineups with two non-shooting bigs (Zion, S.Adams and 2 mediocre shooting guards (Bledsoe, Ball). And that Zion can excel next to Ingram at SF as well.

I see no reason to break up that duo.

They -- both individually and as a combination -- are the best thing about that team. They are the pieces you want to build around.
