Beal is expensive and we’re almost surely not getting Beal without giving up Jaylen, which is not a smart move considering Jaylen is now, or very soon will be, a better overall player than Beal (and much younger/cheaper).

We gotta move on from the Beal fantasy...

I like Beal as a scorer but I don’t understand how he would fit the the Js considering all the talk about Kemba and deferring to the Js etc. are we expecting Beal to defer to the Js? Are the Js going to defer to Beal? Only way it makes sense to me is if Brown for example is going to Washington and then the Cs balance out the roster with something from a third team.

If Cs are going to give up draft capital/use the TPE, it should be for a player that fits a position of need (like a swing/PF type). I’d be all in on John Collins. He’s talented, young, same timeline as the Js, and you can just re-sign him for multiple years.

Celtics get: Bradley Beal
Wizards get: Robert Williams, Carsen Edwards, Romeo Langford, Aaron Nesmith, 2021 first round (unprotected), 2022 (pick swap), 2023 first round (unprotected)

I genuinely think this could be the missing piece of our puzzle. The players we let go of (other than Rob) don’t get too many minutes because of our current talent but I still believe they are exciting prospects with decent enough ceilings to play a role in a teams rebuild. The picks won’t be high but they will be a further asset that could turn into a player or be flipped in further trades.

Who says no to this?
Every team in the league.
All those picks are likely to be bottom of the first round unless Jaylen or Tatum decide they want out. The rest is a garbage return for a superstar.  If the roles were reversed and Ainge gave up Tatum or Jaylen for that return would you be happy?  You've got more hope that someone wants to come and play with Beal vs doing that.
