Teague DNP-CD...

Bye bye Teague?

He’s getting paid the Vet min and historically has been a productive player. It’s his first year on a new team, let’s give him some time to figure things out.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

watched on tape delay.  hot takes for today's game:
- team is still "live by the 3, die by the 3".  Tonight they were very alive.
- huge difference in this team when the Js get any kind of offensive help.  Semi and Pritchard were huge in that first half.  Kemba put up 21 on not-great shooting but much better than a lot of the miserable performances he's had recently.
- team started to falter about the middle of the third quarter but showed a backbone and built the lead back up.  the D in the last half of the fourth was fantastic.  need that more frequently.
- did not miss the frustration of Teague's ineptitude.
- Js with 19 combined assists.  great ball movement and helps that people were making their open shots

Not to mention he is handy as salary filler.

Not much of a hot take, but at some point, I'd like to see Tacko play extended minutes. I could see Tacko and Theis potentially playing together...

Two tidbits from the BG:

Quote
[Tatum] has connected on 50 percent of his shots just once in nine games since being sidelined with COVID-19 and after going 5 for 13 Thursday is now 20 for 55 over his last three.

He's also looked tired to my eyes. Haven't hunted up the stats for this post, but Brown's shooting seems to be regressing some, though that's not a surprise given how ridiculous his numbers were.

Quote
Walker is in the midst of an odd shooting stretch. Over the last three games he is 10 for 23 on 3-pointers and 1 for 21 on 2-pointers. “I’m still just trying to find my rhythm,” he said. “I went a long time without touching a basketball before I even started playing. I just got to get back to that stuff, which I will. It takes time, I have to let the game come to me a little bit. Nothing with my knee or anything like that.”

Strange stats. Kemba had the 4th best NBA efficiency for the game after SO, JT, and PP, but it was as a stationary catch-and-shoot performance that can't be sustained against good playoff defense. A good outing, but we need more. Kemba keeps saying his knee feels fine, so let's hope that this is all part of the road to recovery.

Pritchard has played 25+ mins in only 6 games this season. C’s record in those 6 games.... 5-1
Not a coincidence at all. More importantly, in the 6 games where he's played 19 or less minutes he has struggled significantly.

Gotta keep playing him!
