Drummond is not really much better than Tristan and Timelord when it comes to team defense and our duo are absolutely outrageous at that part of the game.
Drummond won’t solve our problems. A healthy Horford could.
Bring in Drummond and we might start missing Kanter even more lol

So raptors really engaged in trade discussions.
I think we can get in as a third team.
Get Norman Powell and our good friend Baynes to bolster the bench. Baynes might be ok against Embiid.
We probably need to send some contracts to Cavs and and Raptors .
Can we send Timelord to cavs and Carsen and Teague to raptors ?
Would this deal make us better:
Out - TL, Teague and Carsen
In - Baynes and Powell

I look at it as who are the top true Centers in the league and how valuable are they to their teams.  Many bigs these days are hybrid of PF and Center so I guess the attitude of many is that a true center is a dinosaur, no longer relevant in the league.  Here are the top true Centers (think of them as players who play only center), consider how valuable you think these players are in "today's NBA":

Top Tier:

Jokic
Embiid
Towns
Vucevich (?)

These are all extremely valuable players, stars.

The next tier:

Gobert
Capela
Valanciunas
Turner
Ayton

All valuable players.  I have excluded other very good to great players who could be argued aren't "True" centers or centers only but are top true bigs:

Davis
Sabonis
Porzingis
Adebayo
Giannis
Wood

Statistically, Andre the Dinosaur is probably not in the top tier of True Centers but I think he may be slightly above the Capelas and the Goberts of the world.

My point again is that Centers can be much more valuable players than are being given credit here.  For the Celtics, I would prefer to add an offensive minded PF (say Randle) than a true Center as I feel that is a much bigger hole for us right now.  We have Thompson and Theis as decent centers but that leaves us with Grant Williams and Ojeleye to play PF.  If we somehow got Drummond, we would still have a giant hole at PF.

Are the Raps going to trade Lowry before the deadline? They may not be willing to send him to the Cs. And I'm not sure Danny would send Kemba to Cleveland (if he trades him I think he'll be very careful about a "good situation" for him)...

Drummond and a pick to TOR, Lowry to BOS, Kemba to CLE?

Hard pass on Baynes. He's been absolutely awful this season. His age + tendency to get injured also doesn't bode well. Don't really see him fulfilling a real role here other than bringing him back for the sake of nostalgia.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

No normal GM would trade Lowry for Drummond. Unless they want to trade their "stars" Raptors options are limited to:
Baynes + Powell + S. Johnson + McCaw to match salaries .. and you can argue that giving away Powell for Drummond is an overpay but you need to pay to play.
Cavs dont want too much additional payroll coming in and gladly would get rid of all four players .. though they might have some interest in resigning Powell. Cavs may be intrigued by TL .. i know some tanking teams are because he helps lose games and may develop suddenly in the next few years. So we are getting Powell plus the negative value Baynes contract for Timelord and get rid of Carsen and Teague in the process. I think it works for all teams.

Baynes is basically an expring and can be used mostly against Embiid and other imposing bigs...other wise garbage minutes only. We are doing this deal because Powell is a good bench player and we need good bench players. And we wont be sending picks out.

No normal GM would trade Lowry for Drummond.

They might if: a) they think Lowry is walking this offseason, b) they have a long-term interest in Drummond, and / or c) they think he's more likely to sign with Brooklyn if he's bought out.

I don't understand the fascination with Drummond.  He is a dinosaur that would never fit in our system.

Additionally, every time I watch him play he looks lazy and disinterested. He is the quintessential great stats guy on a bad team.

I'll pass.

Then I guess he would fit in perfectly!

Some of you make no sense.  We need a big.  Embiid kills us.  He’s 27.  He can rebound.  Good grief no, he doesnt fit our system of Kemba and tatum iso ball so don’t get him :o

Drummond gets eaten alive by the very same centers that Theis gets eaten alive by. Rebounding isn't a huge need for this team right now. Defense, ball movement and outside shooting are huge needs right now and Drummond fixes none of that.

The team would be better off getting DeMarcus Cousins at a fraction of the cost.

Lol, I gotta love the condescension coming from a place of incorrect assumptions. It is commonly known that Embiid feasts upon Drummond, and actively looks forward to playing him

What area of need does Drummond actually help the Cs with? Defense? Nope. Shooting? Nope. Ball handling? Nope.

Only thing he really brings is rebounding and that really isn’t a need/issue on this team.

Per Sam Amico, Celtics are reportedly interested in trading for Andre Drummond. Interesting.

Will he live up to how he was in his Pistons days, or is he going to become another Greg Monroe here?
