John Collins if he’s available.

Can someone share (considering this seems to be brought up a lot): other than the Hawks having lots of bigs, why would John Collins be available?

Extension talks went nowhere, Collins has voiced his displeasure with the organization, and he’s a pending RFA.  Plus, there have been rumors of his availability for months, at minimum.

Second target for me and a clear overpay but:
Al Horford for    Triple T 😂
Tristan, Timelord and Teague

-We stay under the tax;
-open up roster spots;
-upgrade the center position;
-have salary to include in fireworks trade next year;
-remove uncertainty of TL future contract;
-save our draft picks;
-let Tristan get bought out and join a team of his liking so we don’t look bad for cutting him.
-we create a couple smaller trade exceptions to use in future trades

  I know with Collins it would most likely involve the TPE but what else do you think we’d have to fork over to Atlanta? Is popular opinion that the TPE would be a winning bid for him over what other teams may offer?

Can someone share (considering this seems to be brought up a lot): other than the Hawks having lots of bigs, why would John Collins be available?

-Collins wants the Max. Atlanta has apparently offered around $90 Million which Collins and his Camp rejected.
-DA allegedly targeted him in a trade him last year.
-There was the report that Collins went at Trae Young's approach on offense in a film session.
-Deandre Hunter and Clint Capela have emerged as borderline elite frontcourt options. They also took Onyeka Okongwu at number 6 in the 2020 draft.
-Not that we would give him the max, but the idea is that he might take something around $90 million to play with Tatum and Brown.

You mean next year? A tpe as big as his salary this year is not valuable. He would fetch a prime asset at least. Like the minny pick or other lightly protected picks

I think New York or OKC or Spurs would give him more than $90M easily. So we have to be prepped to match otherwise it’s a rental

I've heard he doesn't like playing with Young, who dominates possessions.

Well then he's sure to love playing with Tatum!

Joking aside appreciate everyone's lists. I'd be thrilled if we could get Collins.

I've been on the Vuc bandwagon for years.  I think this is the year it gets done.

Tim Hardaway, Jr. (as a fairly cheap rental / try-before-you-buy option)

If Collins is in fact available, I'm on board with that -- albeit at far more expense.

I'd trade Thompson and Teague for open roster spots. I'd give them to anyone who'd take 'em. Please..... someone take them.

No thanks on taking Horford.

And no thanks on trading Williams, please.

Well I added 8 bullets of silver linings maybe some of them would be legit considered by Danny and Brad

Collins is an RFA though so some of those teams might not be so inclined to tie up the required Cap Space during the start of a loaded free agency class. A Malcolm Brogdon style sign and trade would allow us to circumvent the whole ugly process if Collins wants to compete for titles.

If Atlanta doesn’t want to spend the money to extend him and say they did trade him to Boston...Can the Celtics afford to keep him with Kemba, Jaylen, and Jayson on max contracts?
