The Wizards have the worst record in the NBA (4-12). No matter what they say, it's possible that they'll blow up their team at the trade deadline. Assuming that other teams can offer better packages for Beal, how about we go after Davis Bertans? I bet he's still a lethal shooter despite his poor shooting form this season.

According to rumors, the C's were interested in Bertans last season.

Quote from: Chris Mannix
Boston made several strong offers to Washington for Davis Bertans, but the Wizards wouldn’t budge. Washington remains committed to re-signing Bertans this summer as a stretch-four opposite John Wall and Bradley Beal.
Quote from: Sports Illustrated
There is strong interest in Boston in Davis Bertans, who would fill a couple of needs. Washington has effectively hung up on teams looking to extract Bertans, but Boston could make things interesting if they throw a pick or two into the pot. Because really … what are they holding on to them for?

The asking price at the time was rumored to be 2 firsts. Let's say the C's offer a first and a prospect. No need to match salaries. We can absorb Bertans' salary via the TPE.

For the record, Bertans cannot be traded till March 2.

Don't want him.  Bad contract.   What problem does he solve for us?  How playable is he in the playoffs against the teams we'll need to beat?

Bertans’ contract is incredibly offputting. He’s also come crashing back to earth this season.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Didn't want him last year, don't want him this year.

I never understood the hype with him.  He is really just a tall kind of stiff wing who can shoot but not much else.  Not even a starter level player.  I had to look up his contract, 5 years, $15M and up, wow.

Washington should have sold high when they had the chance.

Too expensive. Useful player but not good enough to justify that payday. Terrible contract.

Good for that guy. Went absolutely nuts in a contract year, sat out the bubble, and STILL GOT PAID.
