Q - why’s Gordon having such a solid year and maybe best in 4 years.

So the obvious, easy, and none controversial answer would be that Gordon is finally healthy, right? She answered....

A - “This question could get me into trouble lol. So I’ll just say this organization [Hornets] has always had faith in Gordon. MJ was the first person to offer him a max contract and they have always trusted him and known what type of player he is”

Brad was accused of feeding Hayward minutes to help him get his former self back. Players felt offended by that but yeah...he didn't have faith in him.

That is disrespectful...

I don't mind that answer. The Hornets made Hayward their nr 1 option as he was in Utah and that's reflected in his shot attempts, where Hayward was demoted to being the 4th option in Boston. So I understand her view. What I don't understand is why the view of a player's wife has any relevance.

And to be honest I don't see a difference in the way and level Hayward is playing now in contrast to last year. Hayward played great last season and he's being missed. His points per game are up, because he now plays in an offense that's more about ball sharing so the ball comes back to him if he passes it, instead of the situation with us where often the ball sticks to Walker or Tatum (not always a bad thing though).

His role on offense has been made easier, but defensively it's harder for him I think.

Not sure why anyone would be surprised. Robyn had a terrible time and pretty obviously felt as if Celtics fans and media disrespected Hayward routinely (not something I disagree with either).
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

The big question is whether Hayward would have been OK with a team dynamic that didn't include Kemba or an equivalent. I think it would have been a much more satisfying role, but he still would have needed to accommodate the emergence of Tatum and Brown. Would that have been enough?

As many teams have done in the past (Utah being one) Celtics need to put lost assets in the rear view mirror and become a better team despite the loss(es). GH is irrelevant to Celtics basketball. And Robyn is far less so.   I understand the interest in a Robyn interview but I don’t see a need to care.

I won't go into why I think Robyn is wrong/jaded, but it does go to show that the max contract offer sheet CHA signed Hayward to back in 2014 did in fact resonate with the Haywards in this latest FA. Many people just assume that we automatically could have made the Turner/McD trade with the Pacers, but it sounds like CHA has always been a place Gordon and Robyn have thought fondly of. And the extra $$$ certainly didn't hurt.

She loves attention and money, of course when someone gives you more of both you become happier.

Kudos to her!

hayward had every opportunity and his buddy stevens on top of it.

Sounds like a guy looking for excuses and unable to play along with other talented players. He was the one guy that should have had no problem fitting in.

It's become clear that Hayward and Kyrie were holding back the progression of Tatum and Brown. Glad they both moved on. The only question left is, is Kemba doing the same, or can he adjust and let those two guys play to the best of their abilities? Kemba's a good dude and good teammate, but Brown and Tatum are much more effective when they have the ball a lot more in their hands.

If this what she had in mind, she chose her words very poorly.

I agree with this. I'm still super open to a trade for Kemba, but through the 5 game sample size, Kemba is taking the fewest shots of career since his rookie year.... he is at 14.2 shots per game. I think getting that down to 12 shots, would be interesting

EDIT: He shots per 36 is virtually the highest since his rookie year  :-[

Well I hope her and her family enjoy their money and their irrelevancy.

It all worked out well for everyone in the end. The Hayward get money, the chance for Gordon to be the guy an I hear North Carolina isnt a bad place to live. Boston doesn't have to pay the endd of that contract which will still probably be bad, they got more financial flexibility an Jaylen get the reps he needed to take a leap.

Win.Win.Win.

From Robyn’s perspective, she seemingly cares a lot more about the money and Hayward’s individual stats than about him ever winning a Title. And that’s not really a surprise since she loves and supports her husband and not necessarily the organization he plays for.

Ya look thats fair. Winning is hard, if you're a player at Hayward level getting 2 out of 3 of winning, money, and role is about as good as you're gonna do because if Hayward wants to be the number one option the team is gonna by definition have a certain ceiling that isnt a title contender.

I don't begrudge him and his wife choosing those things, but if the implication is the C's organization held her husband back than well thats dumb. If anything faith in Hayward HURT the c's in his first year back.
