Lot's of material coming out these days about how Tobias Harris is making a strong case to be an all-star this season. Likely as the Sixers third all-star.

Do you guys think he has a case, and would he impact Jaylen's shot at making the all-star team?

I think it's absurd to consider three all-star selections from this Sixers team, and I think Jaylen has more than earned his spot this season despite being snubbed repeatedly for player of the week, including being snubbed in favor of Tobias Harris.

Not sure Simmons makes the All-Star team this year.

Houston passing on Simmons was a big hit to his all star aura. He looked useless most of the game against lakers and against us. He has a good game here and there against unmotivated defenses

Yeah, but too often guys like him get in purely on media hype and fan popularity.

I'm not surprised at Tobias Harris' season, he's very skilled and Doc has always been a fan of his. He coached him in the past and knows how to utilize him to the best of his abilities.

It would be highway robbery though if Jaylen doesn't make it this season.

Tobi for Kemba straight up. Who says no?

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y69dnlbh

Tobi is 2 years younger and has never faced a major injury throughout his career. They are both overpaid. That said, Tobi's contract runs for one more year compared to Kemba's.

C's starting lineup after the trade

PG: Smart (6'3'')
SG: Brown (6'6'')
SF: Tatum (6'8'')
PF: Tobi (6'8'')
C: Theis (6'8'')

Best small ball starting lineup in the NBA? Smart may be 6'3'', but he operates as a wing on defense. All 5 of our starters would be versatile defenders! Our offense would be great as well. Tobi reminds me of Hayward. He can create his own shot. He can create shots for his teammates as well. I reckon he'd be a nice fit in our system.

He should get in over Simmons. Ben just isn’t improving and he looks timid on the offensive end. Seems afraid to shoot.

Huh? Warren isn’t any better than Harris.

TJ Warren is a scorer. Tobias is a Point Forward. Don't think they are similar players.

How about instead of Tobias we get $30M in expiring deals including Danny Green, PJ tucker and George Hill. I had it worked out as a 4 team trade on an excel sheet and I think it worked. There are a few smaller contracts going out and in but the main idea is replace Kemba with expiring role players that fit the Js and create a $34.4M (Kembas salary) TPE to use next year. Philly pays for Tucker and Hill with their picks.

I agree; Tobias is better.  And I also doubt Sixers would trade him to us for Kemba Walker, but it is an interesting idea, that with the right picks could get traction if only we weren't rivals. The rivalry probably makes this idea very unlikely to be pursued.

You're right, I screwed it up, it should be the other way around.

My point was supposed to be that Tobias Harris is just a luxury version of TJ Warren.

He does some things better, but at the end of the day, for me, Harris is on the same continuum as Harrison Barnes, Andrew Wiggins, TJ Warren, etc.  He's probably the best example of that category of player, but that's all he is to me.

Harris does have a higher Assist% than Warren, but you're still talking about a guy whose career higher APG is 3.2.  Tobias Harris is not a point forward.

Tobi ain't the primary ball handler. It's not easy to average eye-catching assists numbers while playing mostly off the ball. Tobi averaged 3.2 assists and only 1.4 t/o last season. That's an assist to t/o ratio of 2.29. Plenty of PGs around the league had a worse ast/to ratio than Tobias last season.

He also averaged 4 assists and only 1.3 t/o during the playoffs (albeit in just 4 games). The Sixers were playing without Simmons at the time. Tobi, Milton and Burks were the de facto PGs for them.
