I wonder what legal options would be available to the Nets if he keeps sitting. There's been reports - don't know how reliable - that he may sit out the year. At that point, can the Nets void his contract? They wouldn't be able to get a disabled player exception for him because he's healthy so they'd just be paying max money to a guy who doesn't want to play.

C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Not meant as a joke or criticism, but unless you are his doctor, you really do not know that.

They haven't listed him as being out due to injury, they've listed him as out due to personal reasons. I don't have to be his doctor to read the injury report. Under the rules of the CBA, they'd only get a DPE if it's confirmed by the league that he has an injury that makes his return this season unlikely.

Do you think he's tradeable? I wouldn't want him on my team. I know he has incredible talent, but even if you could put up with his BS, who knows if he's going to play.

The Clippers would take him.  Beverley, Williams, Zubac, Mann, Kabengele (or wait until Feb 5 and do Patterson instead of the last 2) for Irving.  Obvious talent downgrade for Nets and they won't really be able to get any picks since the Clippers don't have any, however they would have a much more cohesive lineup with the defensive PG in Beverley, a backup center in Zubac, and a scoring dynamo off the bench in Williams.  And if you wait till February 5 you wouldn't even need to cut anyone as they have 3 open roster spots.  Do it now and they can cut Luwawu-Cabarrot and keep both of Kabengele and Mann.

I think the Knicks would also take Irving.  Not sure what they would give up, but the Nets could probably at least get Randle and the Mavs pick and because the Knicks have cap room Randle for Irving works financially which would also give the Nets a 12-13 million TPE.  Maybe the trade is Randle, Ntilikina, Bullock, Mavs 1st for Irving.  Again clearly not value for Irving, but something is better than nothing and they could at least get a pick back doing that.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Well anyone is tradeable in the NBA, we've seen that. The question becomes about value. On paper, an All-NBA, All-Star 28 year old, championship point guard should get you a pretty good return, but Kyrie's unpredictability really hinders his value.

You're probably correct, but I wouldn't give up either package for a guy who has now pretty much quit on 3 teams, and is a locker room problem.
Randle has been playing well and I don't see Irving making them a contender.
Not sure I see him fitting in with the clippers either, as he appears to only play if he's the center of attention.
