It really sucks for Fultz and I feel horrible for him. But I really don't see evidence that he was improving. He was playing more games and getting more minutes but his field goal percentage and 3 point percentage were at career low levels. I think he showed the same flashes of potential in the games that he played in his first year.
Agreed - I do not see this turning the corner narrative that is being pushed on us. Fultz plays on a team with terrible PGs and is force-fed big minutes that he would get hardly anywhere else because he simply is not good enough to warrant them. He is a mediocre backup PG and the type of backup PG that most contenders would not be interested in due to his lack of shooting.
Orlando badly misread the situation and hugely overpaid him this summer.
Fultz has to develop that outside shot to an adequate level to get anywhere near starting guard level of play.
