I’m not sure why Brad took the ball out of Pritchard’s hands.

Because Pritchard, unlike Waters, has some utility off the ball.  Waters is more or less useless without the ball.

Why Waters and Pritchard are on the court at the same time is a separate question.  I guess I don't mind too much in a 20-point game.
