To BOS: KAT
To MIN: JB, Langford, Edwards, Green

Do you do it?

Walker
Smart
Tatum
KAT
TT

Theis
Teague
R. Williams
PP
Ojeyele
G. Williams
Nesmith

What if we could go all-in and get both KAT and Harden with this (imagining Harden doing something utterly insane to make his value decline that much):

I'd trade Tatum before I even think of trading away Brown - I've seen enough qualitative improvement from Jaylen to be pretty confident that he's on a similar level. Think that a Tatum/KAT swap would be interesting, but I would need information on his mental state and whether can he improve his defence going forward.

To all obsessed with Towns :
- how do one manages to have him healthy and not miss many games ?
- how does Towns improve the W/L column ?

The bullets above are serious enough concerns to not even be willing to trade smart for him

He missed 5 games in his first four years in the league.  Last year he had an injury and that has carried over some into this year, but I'm not worried about his health at all.

Every single season, the Wolves have been better per 100 possessions with Towns on the court vs him off the court.  The last 3 years it is at least 4 points per 100 better.  As a comparison, the Celtics were better with Brown on the bench the last two years.  The problem in Minnesota is not Towns, it is the rest of the roster.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yeah KAT has been an iron man for much of his career. He's one of the rare big men who you can build a title winning offence around, so you can surround him with two way wings and guards to buoy the defence while the team's offence is still elite.

I'd consider it. Don't think the Wolves would do it, especially since they just drafted Anthony Edwards at #1 who's a similar player to Brown (at least in theory).

I'd think they say no. They have Edwards to develop at the wing. Elite top 5 bigs are hard to get and you probably don't deal them unless your team is rebuilding or forced by player to.

You're tireless with these trade proposals aren't you.

Boston isn't interested in moving JB and Minnesota aren't interested in moving KAT, especially for Brown.

Towns for Tatum could be intriguing for both teams, but it's useless until next year given the PPP of Tatum's deal
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

If Brown gives you 90 percent the rest of year of what he's given you so far then Jaylen for KAT is a lateral move at best. I don't think its impossible that by the end of the year we consider Brown the better player.

JB is going to be Jimmy Butler with a better jump shot. I hope the Cs keep JB in Boston for his career.

Danny messed up by not giving him the 5 year max. I hope the work out max contract extension or at least Danny to start having these discussions with jaylens agent ASAP.
Does anyone know when can we extend him and at what % of the cap? I know to get the max money he has to be a Defense Player of the year or named all NBA a couple times... maybe a scoring title as well?

No.

Why do we keep wanting to trade JB? What is wrong with people.

What can I say? I’m not happy with being .500 and, I hope I’m wrong about this, facing an inevitable first-round elimination. If there’s a way we can trade JB for a superstar, even a borderline superstar, I’m all for it. If we end up keeping him, hopefully I’m wrong and he does become the next Kawhi or next Jimmy Butler. But I suspect he will continue to be a very good starter and maybe a borderline all-star in his mid/late 20s, so basically the Glen Rice, Sr. of the 2020s. The way some people fawn over him on here reminds me of Hornets fans who thought Rice was going to be THE man to bring them a title. In reality, he’s simply not good enough as our number two guy (and not a champion unless he joins the Lakers late in his career like Rice did). If we can trade up for a disgruntled superstar while JB’s stat-line is on fire, I’m all for it.
