I heard that last night and didn't think much of it, but then I was watching First Things First today and they had this segment.

The next 5 active players when added together don't even have 1000 games.

So is this something or is it eh, it's 10 points, who cares?

Think it's a good indicator of his insane longevity, but I don't like the qualifier - 10 points from him is different from say Adrian Dantley.

Lebron is one of the best players of all time, but I wouldn’t value this stat as one of his most impressive accomplishments.  To me, this comes down to usage, lack of injury and lack of foul trouble.  I’m thinking a lot of these streaks ended for players by getting hurt early in a game.  In some instances, it’s could’ve had to do with limited minutes due to foul trouble.  Lebron has averaged less than two fouls per game over his career, which is ridiculous.  Also, he’s averaged about 20 field goal attempts and 8 free throw attempts per game.  You’d have to have a really bad game to not get double figures with that many shots

It's only 10pts. Big deal if you are a rookie so first 82 games of that streak are note worthy rest are garbage.

Sure on some level.  Harden's streak is over 400, his last game under 10 was February 11, 2015.  He played 36 minutes and had 12 shots, but only scored 9 points.  Earlier that year he played 33 minutes had 8 shots and only scored 6 points.  That was his 3rd season in Houston and he averaged 27.4 ppg on 18.1 shots that year.

Jordan only had 1 game in Chicago, in his 2nd year, where he didn't score at least 10 (so his last 840 he did).  He had 13 shots in the game scoring only 8 points.  It wasn't his first game returning from injury though his minutes were clearly being limited.  his first season in Washington he had 5 games under 10 points, the first being December 27th in a game he had 10 shots and only scored 6 points.  So he didn't make it all that close to 1000.

I remember Jordan breaking Kareem's record of double digit performances.

Sustained excellence or at least minimization of bad / terrible performances. Consistency of performance rather than excellence. A guy who shows up every night. Does not take off nights. And does it for an extremely long time. That is impressive.

It does say something...I mean Tatum is one of the top scorers in the league and his streak is 12 games.

Lebron is able to find ways to score when he is not shooting well.
Yup

There’s an 8 point stinker somewhere in there that doesn’t count bc it was in the playoffs.

Ruins the spirit of the accomplishment a little bit for me

Is he going to break more records than he sets, or set more records than he breaks?

Bron's longevity & availability are very impressive

Don't think him scoring 10 pts every time he plays is all that impressive though
