1) Sell-high on Brown by moving him for Harden, and include Kemba given the emergence of Pritchard, so that we can convince the Rockets to include Woods in the deal.

2) Replace our lost defensive production of Brown by bringing in Draymond Green, thereby helping the Warriors lower their luxury tax obligations this year/beyond (they’re not contending this year and our young pieces may be intriguing to their system).

To BOS: James Harden, Draymond Green, Christian Woods, Ben McLemore

To HOU: Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, ‘21 BOS 1st, ‘23 BOS 1st, ‘25 BOS 1st

To GSW: Romeo Langford, Grant Williams, Carsen Edwards, multiple BOS 2nds

https://tradenba.com/trades/Sty_9xSSf

To me, this team is what gets us over the top (and the inclusion of Woods makes that 2025 1st round pick less painful):

Harden
Smart
Tatum
Green
TT

Woods
Teague
Theis
McLemore
Pritchard
R. Williams
Nesmith
Ojeyele
Green
Jefferson

Would later move Green and/or Jefferson for a protected 2nd, and bring in a buy-out candidate for added bench strength. Would save the TPE for a potential sign-and-trade in the off-season (would love to see a young guy who’s obsessed with trying to be the third piece in a Big 3 of Tatum/Harden/Them).

Going into 2021-2022, our starting lineup would return and we’d still have these guys on our bench and the following picks:

Woods (backup PF/C)
Pritchard (hopefully backup PG)
Nesmith (hopefully backup SF/SG)
R. Williams (Depth...really don’t see him being better than Woods or TT)

Rights to Theis (Probably re-sign)
Rights to McLemore (Maybe re-sign)
Rights to Ojeyele (Maybe re-sign)

2021 BOS 2nd
2022 BOS 1st
2023 BOS 2nd
2024 BOS 1st
2025 MEM 2nd
2026-beyond: All original picks

We’ll still have a pick every year this decade and legit championship runs in 2021 and 2022. If the Harden experiment is clearly faltering, we shift him back West at the deadline in 2022 (maybe the Clippers considering he’s from LA, or see if the Suns would take him considering he played at Arizona State). If we manage the cap smartly after moving Harden, we’ll have room in the 2023 off-season for Jokic (or another elite player to pair with Tatum, who one hopes will be a top ten player by then on a supermax contract). This is our hedge against Harden faltering.

Thoughts?

Seriously doubt Christian Woods is going to go out in any trade package. He has become Rockets' second best player.

I must concede I thought guys on this board were exaggerating how good he became last season; I didn't pay attention.

My bad. You guys were right!!

If he’s that good, we include the 2027 and/or 2029 1st.

Yep, Brown has developed and let's trade him for a shoot first PG/SG.

Or, let's keep Tatum and Brown together and reap the benefits!

OP is just hellbent and determined to wreck this team just to get his 2 binkies Harden and Wood.

wouldn't touch either deal.  Harden's a head case and likely gone after his current contract.  C's are out a lot of talent and picks for their troubles.

Green deal isn't horrible in terms of talent but the guy is on the downside of his career.

that roster would have to be torn apart in 2 years once Harden is gone and C's only really good player left is Tatum.  Wood's looking like a fine sidekick but not someone who'll be a #2 with Tatum that'll get us anywhere.  C's won't have any draft capital to build with cheap talent, particularly when there's a very good change they're in the lottery after Harden leaves.

Houston would take Brown straight up for Harden, I think.  They’d be stupid if they didn’t.

Brown just put himself in that class of the UNTRADEABLES!!! The sky is the limit for this guy. Just watch is college highlights. As players develop in the league you have to go back to their college highlights to measure them against their class. Brown is going to be a phenom.

Why does Houston move Wood after investing a four year contract on him that looks as if it could be a massively high value contract.

Also, same for Brown and the Celtics.

And why would Houston take on Kemba when they have Wall?

This trade proposal is just really illogical. Neither team would do this deal.

So we sell-high on Brown, but Houston sells low on Wood who is averaging 27/8 on a cheap contract? Huh?

No thanks. Jaylen Brown is a big part of Celtics future
