Celtics should trade Carsen Edwards and their 2021 1st round draft pick for OKC's George Hill. Need insurance for Kemba's knee.

I like George Hill, but with Teague on board; I think it would be redundant (similar players)

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
He's not a bad player, but we aren't going anywhere without a healthy Kemba. Heck, we couldn't even make it past the #5 seed in the ECF w/ our top 3 plus Smart healthy. What we need is to replace some of Hayward's production with a big wing, see continued development from the Jays, and hope that we are actually the healthy team this year going into the playoffs.

Hill could play the two. Backup Smart. Keep two small guards (PGs) on the floor at all times.

Hill played well as a SG in San Antonio in his early years. He was a scorer in college.

I think George Hill, even at his age, is a significant upgrade over Jeff Teague, especially as a scorer.

I would definitely be down with George Hill.  As who mentions, he can credibly play SG, where we are thin.

Let me be clear.  I wouldn't mind George Hill for Carsen Edwards trade....

Cant see Danny trading a first rounder for Hill unless it’s top 20 or even higher protected.

Yeah, not worth a 1st. Too old.

I'd give up a couple of 2nds though.

Put lottery protection on it and call it good.

Agree that Hill is an upgrade; in the playoffs he seems to raise his game, makes really heady, winning plays.

would you please provide some stats to back up what you say.

over the past two seasons, teague averaged about 11 points a game.

over the past two seasons, hill averaged about 8 points a game.

hill does shoot 3 pointers at a better rate, but teague is not bad at all. but the stats below do not support your basic premise. for their careers:

Teague
2.5 rbd
5.8 assists
1.2 steals

Hill
3.1 rbd
3.2 assists
0.9 steals
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

If you look at per possession, their scoring is about even, but Hill is quite a bit more efficient.  Teague is definitely more of a floor general.

Hill is the better shooter from the field and better defender according to advanced stats. Teague is 52nd in career Assist%. That's his standout strength.
