Magics gave 80M/4 years for Isaac and 50M/3years for Fultz. I get it for Isaac it seems a correct deal, hopping he can avoid injuries... But waouw Fultz 17M a year it is a lot... He was only 12/5 last year. So is it a big overpay or Magics are seeing a real potential that Fultz can make it toogether again ? I understant they are a small market and they have to try things and sometimes overpay, but 17M for Fultz seems huge amount of money on my opinion.

I think They see potential for him to improve, considering he’s been putting up double digit figures consistently. He did decent during that 1st round in the playoffs. That probably sealed his deal

I think they see growth and improvement.  Last year, in 64 games, 12.1PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 5.2 APG while shooting 47% (3PT% was awful).

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
For better or worse, the Magic do a very good job at retaining their own guys. For as bleh as they've been, they do seem to have a lot of consistency within their roster and they've at least made the playoffs the last couple of seasons. This isn't a bad thing for a small-mid market team giving the fans a team/players to root for. It's hard to see them breaking out this season, though, so they could definitely be sellers sooner rather than later...but at least they'll have something to sell, because they've been able to re-sign their own players.

That being said, the Isaac deal seems like a no-brainer. I'm impressed they were able to get him to sign for that low. If I were Isaac, I probably would have taken a chance on myself this season, even with coming off an injury. And the Fultz deal isn't that bad. We don't see him a lot in Orlando, but he has quietly resurrected his career and he is still very young.
