Good deal. Just over the MLE. That is what Kuzma is worth. LAL hangs onto a good young talent without overpaying for potential which is good given the low amount of development we have seen from Kuzma over last 12 months.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Not a huge Kuzma fan, but this seems like decent enough value given the money that is flying around lately. I'm a little surprised Kuzma didn't take a chance on himself next offseason where the worst thing that could happen is the Lakers match what he gets from another team. Either way, it's pretty whatever.

He’s worth more based on potential

He's 25 and his numbers have been flat or declining for 3 years.

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
Wow. He’s not even klutch.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

No he’s not. 25 years old, gets more inefficient every year, is a weak rebounder and an even weaker defender. He sucks

I don’t think Kuzma is worth more than the MLE if guys like Thompson & Wood are MLE guys, and Whiteside is a VetMin guy.

overpay.  think the end goal for the Lakers is to use his salary in a deal for a better player to add to Bron and AD

I actually like Kuzma. Think Lebron has absolutely destroyed his confidence. Ultimately the deal was given to him so he can probably be a trade asset down the road. Think he would benefit from a change in scenery.

I'd rate Kuzma on a somewhat similar level as Tristan Thompson. Personally, I'd rather have Kuzma on the Celtics than Thompson. We need a good SF/PF more than another undersized low skilled C.

Agreed -- Kuzma is not the type of player who plays well playing off of an offense built around one ball dominant player (heliocentric offense). He needs to be more involved. More touches. More movement. Allow his scoring versatility more opportunities to show it's value. Using him as a spot up shooter is not his game. He is badly utilized in LAL.

That's a valuable contract to trade.

Like it as good value. He is a fifth option on a championship team.
