just a premature bump to get our minds back to this thread.

the celtics are now sitting at 10 wins and 8 losses, with games coming up tonight at GSW (11-9) and then tomorrow night at the kings (9-11).

most posters seem to be been within barking distance of the celtics win-loss record so far.

i will rebump this thread after the game tomorrow.

hopefully, the celtics will be 12 and 8 then and i will be wrong with my prediction.  ;D

and the final results are in. after twenty games our fabulous celtics are sitting at 11 wins and 9 loses.

we have two winners who stated 11-9, so a tp for both of them.

kuberski33 and footey were both prescient and deserve everyone's praise and adoration.  ;D

oh, and i doled out a few other tps for those who got close.

I said 10-10, so not far off. Too many injuries, too many mostly useless players, too much late-game failure to execute.

that was my selection as well for the same reasons.

Should have had a better record but several wins p---ed away due to stupidity and incompetence on the part of the players and coach

Remember a few years ago when Kyrie was here and we were like 10-10?

Lol good times ::)

I wanna say it’s because of the shortened offseason but after 20 games, I think the excuses are drying up. I’d be surprised if this version of the C’s (no trades/acquisitions) makes it out of the 2nd round this year

All teams are dealing with the same. I know that might sound strange but all teams are dealing with multiple injured players and starters and also assimilate new players into their system. I believe Celtics will improve their winning percentage but it will be marginal like after this trip I see them going 570-590 ball the rest of the way

I agree. They could be 13-7, maybe 14-6.

Team's better than the record currently indicates.  I'm not terribly concerned.

Injuries and chemistry (due to injuries) have played a big role.

Health is the biggest hurdle facing this team right now.

I had 13-7 but with all the injuries I'll take the 11-9.

More like "all the time." Like, from the time KG's knee got messed up until this very day. So frustrating. I can't be certain from memory, but in all the time since KG got hurt, I'm not sure the Celtics have ever gone even like two months with no significant absences due to injury.

It's really amazing—amazingly sad—when you think about it.

The Heatles went four seasons relatively unscathed (10-11 through 13-14), and the Warriors did likewise from 14-15 through 17-18. The 2019 Raptors had to load-manage Kawhi but had no major injuries to work around. And the Lakers were fine last season and so far this season.

Meanwhile, Boston's had season-altering injuries to KG, Perk, Rondo, the O'Neal boys, Kyrie, Hayward, Kemba, Smart, and probably others I've forgotten. It would be nice to get even one season free of that stuff.

I think they are better than their current record. Surprises on the plus side are PP, R. Williams and Jaylen for taking his game to a new level. Negatives are Teague, G Williams and, to me, Smart who I don't think has played well. Also Danny for - as of today -not adding more shooting to the roster.

But it's just 20 games in, the season started early after a pretty deep playoff run and Kemba's been dealing with his knee issues.

I'm expecting them to have a better record over the next 20.
