The Heat for example start out the game with Butler hardly doing any of the scoring.  All he does mainly in the 1st half is try to setup everyone else.

With the Lakers, Lebron and AD do the same.  Warm up everyone else at the start of the game.

Then in the 2nd half,  these guys really come alive (if necessary) and provide the tough scoring etc

The Celtics so far have Tatum and Brown (or Kemba) do all the warming up in the 1st half. Take unlimited shots it feels like. And then second half try to utlitize double teams and perhaps try to get the others involved??

Its like the exact opposite.  The Heat/Lakers method makes more sense imo

Look if the team had a bench consisting of Reddick, Fournier ... vets who dont need warming up.  Then Brad system works either way.

Brad and Ainge are not on the same page.  One has to change

Brad - copy Heat system.  Heat up the role players early. If Tatum, Brown are the all stars we think they are. They can sleep walk scoringwise in the 1st half, with mainly focusing on getting others involved. Then bring their scoring A games in the 2nd half

Or

Ainge: get Brad the horses he needs.  Veterans that can shoot and defend.  Not young players that could turn out to be good shooters.

The main difference between those teams and us is that they utilise heavy off-ball movement for their role players while we stick ours in the corner to let Tatum or Kemba iso or run the PnR.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

yes. So the role players we have are pretty much pilons/turned into pilons

But imo thats not the best way to deal with a young lineup.   Every team now is younger

Its not like the days in the past where the vets do their thing from the start. Then a guy like Eddie House can come in and light up for 10 pts on a drop of a hat.

There are guys like that in the NBA but they don't come cheap

Danny would rather hoard the picks ....

What is exactly problem with having Nesmith running screens, with Brown and Tatum providing screens.  And have him warm up and score 12 pts early?

might as well try this early than try to warm him up later.    On the flipside, with eyes on Nesmith (in this example),  it would open up more real estate for Tatum/Brown in the 2nd part of the game
