The Sixers were playing without Embiid against the Jazz, hence they used Simmons as a Point Center. He responded by recording 42 points, 9 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 t/o on 15-26 from the floor and 11-12 from the FT line! At the same time, Gobert took only 3 shots and finished the game with 11 points and 9 rebounds.

Simmons is a 6'10" non-shooter. The closer he plays to the basket, the better. For some reason, people keep saying he can't play at C.
That would be because Mike Scott played centre, and Dwight Howard played 26 minutes off the bench... at centre
Yeah, I just looked at some advanced numbers and turns out Scott played at C. He has played 9% of his minutes at C this season. In any case, my point is that Simmons is a much better player when playing closer to the basket. Scott is a 3+D swing, not a big man. Practically speaking, their starting lineup had no C.
The thing is Simmons still didn't play centre this game, he simply can't play there .

I think this game was more of an anomaly for him, he really isn't Giannis lite and shouldn't be viewed as such just because he's a hulking 6'10 guy with good athleticism who can pass well in certain game dynamics and finish well with his physical attributes and ability to dribble/finish with both hands - he's closer to a Bam type on offence if anything.
You are arguing against your case. Bam has played 98% of his minutes at Center this season and 2% at PF. If Simmons is closer to Bam rather than Giannis, then he can play at Center as well.

I’ve long advocated Simmons is more suited to a big man spot on offence.

On defence, however, he’s not at all.

If you ask me, he's the best big man perimeter defender in the NBA. The way our PnR defense works, Theis/Thompson meet the opposing ball handler at the level of dribble hand off and deny penetration. Simmons would literally be the perfect fit in our switch-heavy defensive system. He may be the only player in the NBA who can legitimately switch 1 through 5 on defense. Sure, he cannot stop traditional Centers like Jokic or Embiid, but nobody can stop these guys 1-on-1.

Anyway, we can't trade for him unless we sacrifice Brown or Tatum. The Sixers are rolling this season.

Some monster performances tonight. Embiid goes for 50pts and 17teb. Jamaal Murray has 50pts with no FT’s. First ever to do that....[dang].

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Embiid might just run away with the MVP this year, from LeBron.

He’s been incredible. Simmons was out of tonight’s game as well. If Philly traded Ben and a 1st round pick(s) to Washington for Beal, would they not be the team to beat in the Eastern conference and a legitimate title contender?

It's between Embiid, Jokic and Curry for me. LeBron is worse on both ends this year than last

I think they're a legitimate contended as is.  I don't think Beal for Simmons makes them a better contender.  They need Simmons' defense.  Without him, they don't have anyone to defend Tatum or KD.  Also need Simmons for defending Giannis but Embiid can defend him in spurts.  Now if they could flip Harris, whose been playing very well, for Beal that might make them the favorite for the title.

Anyone see Vuce post a 30 point triple-double?

He’s having a borderline All-NBA year this year

I think at this point in his career Lebron is playing for titles rather than MVPs. I suspect we will see good old Lebron again come playoffs time.

Curry has been unreal. He makes that entire team (and it's a lousy one) better.

One of the meanest dunks I've ever seen. Feel bad for Watanabe.

Everyone has been clowning him on the internet for complaining about the off-arm, even Draymond Green

He is actually a fringe all star player right now. I don't this is including his stats tonight, so this may go up even a bit, but he is averaging 20 points and 4 assists and somehow shooting 44% from 3 on 7 attempts. I never thought he would shoot this good.

He’s thriving off the ball, which is a surprise to me. Hayward and Ball have made his life easy.
