Ainge should have traded Kyrie after his first couple of media sessions when he was in Boston. You could clearly see he was a nut job. A guy who talks like that, no matter how great a talent he is, and for Kyrie he's not much of a talent because is total lack of effort on D combined with his ball hogging offensive arrogance is ultimately a net negative, can never be a guy leading your team or be a guy who is part of the leadership of your team - just cannot happen, whether you think Durant of AD might come because of it. It won't work - ever.
It was a colossal error of judgment on Ainge's part, or Ainge and ownership. You could have gotten a lot from, probably from Brooklyn, had you traded him when you should have. The team that year actually played better with Rozier at the point.
Ainge kissed Irving's ass from Day One.
What a disgrace it was to award him the Red Auerbach Award after his first season supposedly representing the player who most exemplified what it means to be a Boston Celtic. This, of course, after he had not even bothered to show up and support his teammates for the biggest game the franchise had since the Garnett era - Game 7 ECF vs Cleveland. Ainge even made a stupid joke about Kyrie saving face for his movie career.
Ainge should have traded the guy at the deadline during his second year with the team. It was obvious to some of us by then that Kyrie as a Celtic was a mistake. We could have acquired a much needed all-star level center in that deal and probably gone to the Finals.
I have to laugh at the blind, dumb and deaf who gave endless hell to me and
tarheels because we dared to criticize Irving. I believe one of the mods actually threatened
tarheels with suspension from the board if he continued his negative comments about Kyrie.
