checks out on trade machine

To Raptors: Ottor Porter,  Devon Dotson, future Bulls 1st
To Bulls: Kemba Walker
To Celtics: Kyle Lowry, Bulls 2nd round pick

Lowry would likely be a one year rental. But is a menace of a player.  He knows what it takes to win the title.

With TT and Lowry the Celts would be oozing with championship experience to help the young Celts core have a stronger chance in beating  Heat/Bucks at the ECF .... and then who knows from there.

Lowry and Smart backcourt duo would be like running into a brick wall for opposing guards.  Lowry is also really good at taking charges on bigger players.  He is fearless

Reason Raptors do the trade:  The reality is, they can't keep extending Lowry to 25-30 million million dollar per year extensions.  Team is on a semi rebuild with money needed to eventually resign Anunoby and Powell next.

Reason Bulls do the trade:  Essentially giving up a 1st and 2nd for Walker.  Which is a nice find, even with knees that need constant attention moving forward.  Get a leader with years left on contract to help team make the playoffs

Would the Celts be one step closer to reaching the finals, replacing Kemba with Lowry in the lineup??

Lowry is great, but he's not what we need when we're already lacking on offence with Kemba on the squad.

You really think its the lack of offense?

Not sure about that

Celts were a good offensive team last season if anything the D could be better in the playoffs

Only if We know Kemba's knee is going to be a long time problem, and then this is a way to get rid of the long term salary/contract/cap holds.  That would free up a max slot or close to it next year for giannis or others.  Only in an injury fear/prediction going forward do I do this.

Lowry’s older than Kemba, but he’s better for this team than Kemba.

Kyle is an excellent defender (guarding 1-3 and having the strength/guile to defend 4s and 5s on occasion to draw offensive fouls and even protecting the rim by taking timely charges), makes the right play in clutch situations, draws fouls, and is a grinder and leader.

Kemba’s offense is more polished and consistent, but the Heat series exposed him. They picked on Kemba repeatedly, putting him in pick and rolls nonstop, and he didn’t do well. He was injured during the series, but if he’s not scoring 25+ points efficiently he’s going to be a liability in the playoffs because the best teams will target him and make him defend.

With Tatum and Brown moving into their primes there’s going to be more than enough offense (Lowry’s no slouch himself). This team doesn’t need much to be a legitimate title contender (it might be one now), but Lowry for Kemba is a move that would solidify it.

Yes I would absolutely make that trade. I would make that trade right now today without hesitation.

absolute worst case scenario is we become a crazy tough out in the playoffs and then we would have 30 million off the books and a 28 million dollar TPE to use.

We would have, if Lowry did not resign here at a discount, a team payroll before  draft pick of only 86.5 million. So if cap stayed at 110 million we would have capspace to sign a 24 million dollar player and then still have the TPE to use on top of that.

THis is a 1000/10 times yes deal

I participated in the "trade Kemba" speculation during trade week.  I think it really makes Danny look bad, and have reconsidered.  Plus he is injured and has low trade value.

Exactly.  There is more flexibility after this season. Plus Lowry is a better playoff warrior than Kemba

Tatum and Brown need to see that "river card" (Reaching the finals). It would be a huge step for both

So given all of the above why would the bulls trade away picks and a young player to have the worse option of the two point guard traded?
If anything Celtics have to send rookie contracts and a pick to the raptors not the bulls...

Huh? Kemba is signed up for a longer contract

So bulls basically get Kemba for Otto Porter?  Think about that for a sec. Porter hasnt played in the last few years.   He is basically a throw in

So how is that fair?

This is great for the Celtics but I don't see why Chicago would want to take in Kemba or why Toronto would want to give up Lowry.
