This is AWESOME!!! I have been pushing Thompson for the MLE for weeks and thought this was a best case scenario if we lost Hayward. I know he’s got his issues, but I am happier with Thompson with the MLE than Turner when taking contracts into consideration.

How much more cap space do the Celts have to spend on another FA??

The bi-annual exception (3.6 million) and two trade exemptions from the Kanter and VP deals that are 5 million and 2.5 million.

I suppose an addition like Tristan, though not part of the plan the last years because of his lack of shooting, became a must-do now because of all the bigs torching the Celtics last season.

How well can he deal with Giannis?

The only thing I hope for is that he is healthy.

Are we gonna make him shoot 3s?
Probably.
Eye roll.

Other than that I like it. 😄

Hope he doesn't shoot 3's or FTs.  But other than that, really happy with this.

Great signing, especially considering the bad contracts that are being thrown at role players.  $80 million over 5 years for Bertans?  Or $75 million for 4 years of Joe Harris?  I like both players, but those contracts are insane.

I wonder where Baynes ends up now.

In theory we could still add him with Kanter's trade exception.

When he is "on" he has possesed eyes. He can reach another level.

Some people already forgot how devastating he was against us in the playoffs. It didnt matter if it was Baynes or Horford.   He beat both to rebounds
