Hi, can someone explain to me , that I’d we are drafted 23 mil trade exception, what will we likely do with it. I can’t even find speculation on this outside of free agents that are left. I know that it’s slip pickings for useful wings.
So as Celts fans can anybody share a within reading positive scenario where we add to the team? Whether is via trade?
The other thing I don’t understand is how many years that we could take in if we traded for this player or players. Is it more likely that we use it on more than 1 guy for 1 year? If we want to retain our core would these guys likely be 1 year players?
I’d love to hear some idea to get excited about.

Maybe try ask that question again.

Re trades: length of incoming contract (in terms of how many years it's for) is irrelevant, what matters is just only the incoming year's salary for a player..

Today in "the falling value of the NBA center" (or: why big guys in the paint may not be worth as much as you think) not only have the Kings signed Hassan Whiteside to a 1 year, 2.3 mil deal as mentioned earlier (nearly the same value as Alex Len's contract), but also Nerlens Noel got just over twice that to play for the Knicks for the same amount of time.

They must be stocking up for the eventual covid outbreaks.

I guess we'll see what he has left in the tank, then. Being behind Leonard and George should give him some good opportunities (load management) and not being relied on the playoffs if he sucks. Seems like a pretty low-risk signing by the Clips
I'm bitter.

Some good free agents still out there.

As far as I know, the following players are still available (and might be a good fit):

Shaqulle Harrison, Tyler Johnson, Evan Turner, Ersan Ilyasova, Kyle O'Quinn

Where is the list of Good FA still available?

I’m not sure there is one.

I believe adding Shaquille Harrison (3+D guard/wing) and Ersan Ilyasova (experienced PF) serve a purpose.

I like Kyle O'Quinn a lot as well, but we have enough centers as it is.

I agree on those two, and I’d add Kyle Korver if the team wants a specialist strictly for the end of quarters / games.

Shaq Harrison would be absolutely awesome for the BAE. Can defend 1-3, has improved his 3 point shot and is a good secondary playmaker at 6'7". Doesn't turn it over either.

Ilyasova is another I've been pining for if we aren't going to use the TPE on a better veteran forward like Barnes or Gay.

Korver, or even Belinelli, would be acceptable specialists. Could probably teach our guys a few things about off-ball movement.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Belinelli unfortunately went back to europe.

Wow, missed that! Probably fair enough, he's been in the NBA since 2007 and has maxed out his earnings here. Would make more money over there and be an offensive focal point.
