Is it really possible that this is an attempt by Danny to get the pick that would be attractive to Houston as part of a deal for Harden? Felger and Mazz talked about Danny having dinner with Harden. From purely a basketball sense, Sixers and Celtics make more sense than the Nets.
Really?? When?
I believe that they said tonight. Doesn't mean that it's true. Here' an article about Ainge's attempt to get in on the Harden deal.

If Danny can turn Hayward and KEmba into Harden then EOY for him.
Smart
Harden
Brown
Tatum
Timelord/Theis
Not that I believe that they actually will get Harden, but such a trade would probably include either Smart or Brown plus picks in addition to whatever assets they can get from moving Hayward and Walker.
I'd imagine if we are giving up both Kemba and Hayward, then the plan would certainly be to hold on to Brown, and hopefully Smart. If the CHI deal is Kemba/1st for Markkanen/Porter/#4, then IND deal of Hayward for Turner. With all of those pieces going to HOU for Harden, is that a better deal than what BKN is offering? What if we offer additional picks?
Just trying to tie all three of these rumors together. Not sure where it gets us, but it sure would be interesting.
Edit: Just saw that league source confirmed Cs have no interest in Harden. If true (who knows?), then please disregard my post. Also, I love you Kemba
Remember, trading Hayward and Kemba is essentially trading 2 allstars for Harden.
This is not a weak package at all.
2/5ths of a starting lineup
They're not All-Stars anymore.
I thought I remember seeing Walker as the starting PG this year.
Sure. Hard to see it happening going forward.
Why?
His knee probably needs some rest, but kemba's game is not about athleticism anyways, He will continue to score points. He may not be an allstar in the west but he will give you 20+, 4 and 5+
Plenty of reasons. His knee is in poor shape, without a full offseason to rest it. He's an aging 6 foot guard who relies on quickness. Jrue Holliday now in the East, and will likely benefit greatly from playing in MIL (could start next to Kyrie this year). Wall may return to form. Simmons may return to form. Etc etc.
I seriously doubt Walker averages 20 ppg this year, especially with Tatum and Brown continuing to grow their volume.
This is not a knock on Walker. These are just realities for any like-NBA player. Teams are not going to trade for what he's done in the past (if they're smart), they're trading for what he can do going forward.
I do think the Bulls may value his character, and how he could be a strong veteran presence in a young locker room. But I don't buy the Rockets would trade Harden for Walker, Hayward and low picks.
