Wow Woj Bomb Hayward to Charlotte!!

Yup.

Hayward goes for the money. Al Horford style

I knew he was being too greedy ... cant blame Danny (or Pacers)

Greedy?  How many times have you turned down $120 million?

He is greedy and it is not his fault either. But lets ponder

He doesnt care about winning.  Doesnt want to play for the Pacers for 25 million per season

Signing 120m with the lowly Hornets... who likely are no playoff threat = greedy for $$$

I think he officially usurped Mark Blount as the worst contract Ainge ever signed. We got absolutely nothing from him in 3 seasons. Yikes.

Would not surprise me 1 iota if he finds his way to Indiana in a few months.
Lol he played like an All-Star this year. What are you talking about?

It's also not like DA knew that Hayward was going to break his leg in half. The Blount comparison is completely unfounded.

Honestly not even mad. Like good for him. Wow. That’s Horford money. Has to be a sign and trade though right? Hornets don’t have the cap space?

I don't think so.  Hornets do have space.

Not enough , they have 19 million in cap space and he's getting 30 a year.

What we were hearing before this was that a potential Hayward deal was going to have a lot of moving parts. If the reporting we're seeing now is correct, Charlotte is signing him for more money than they had to offer so the Celtics are maybe getting something back and maybe not even from Charlotte?

I'm waiting to react until I know what I'm reacting to.

30 mil a year, wow that is going to be one of the worst contracts in a year or two.

Man...I can't how this is good for us at all yet.
Does Charlotte have anyone we even want in a S&T?
I guess a 3rd team could be involved.

Hayward this year: 17.5 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 4.1 APG, 50% FG, 38.3% 3PT, 85.5% FT, 59.5% TS, 56.1% eFG, .158 WS/48, +4.1 net rating.

He is absolutely worth $30 million a year and anyone who believes otherwise is kidding themselves.

And Danny probably lost him for nothing. Plus whatever the MLE is who is left to sign?

I wonder if the holdup was neither Boston or Indy was willing to pay this much.

I think we have to look at it similarly to the Durant scenario with Brooklyn and make a sign and trade because without it we lose the cap space and can't replace him for anything.

But personally if Hayward walks I would be pretty disgusted how he would have behaved. I understand his injury wasn't his fault but the devotion that the franchise has had towards him has been unmatched. Hayward was treated essentially above the rest of the team coming back and he became a part of the coaching staff to help his mental state, Stevens has gone above and beyond for him at every level and right when the team looks to fight for a championship he bails. Not only does he owe it to Stevens to stay but he owes the fans, as he has earned 91 million dollars playing only 122 games. I understand he would want to end his career in Indiana but I don't see why he can't sign a 1 + 1 with Boston and give it his all for team and the fans.
