Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn
Free agent Gordon Hayward is signing a 4-year, $120M deal with Charlotte, per source.

Was dreading this.  Heartbreaking.  Another off-season loss and now hoping DA can salvage.  Like losing Kyrie and Horford  (turned out OK, but) .  Dang.

Hornets have no choice to overpay. Nobody wants to sign with them

Honestly not even mad. Like good for him. Wow. That’s Horford money. Has to be a sign and trade though right? Hornets don’t have the cap space?

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
Sign and trade? No? Meh.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Not sure why there are people here who don't want Turner. The dude is a defensive monster and would instantly make us the best defensive team in the league. He can also spread the floor. He would be very similar to what Horford was for us, except more athletic and better defensively.

His defensive rating is actually pretty disappointing, especially when Sabonis is not on the floor with him. He also gets abused by quality centers.
The Pacers have been better with him when he is on the floor defensively every year other than his rookie year. He is also an elite shot-blocker. He is a terrific defender and was a DPOY candidate a couple of years ago.

Not like it matters anymore with Hayward going to Charlotte, though.

Woj reporting Hayward getting a 4 year $120 million deal from Charlotte but Keith Smith tweeted it "may still be a s&t because Hornets only had about $19M in cap space."

So we still don't know what this means for the Celtics.

Very true. Can't blame Charlotte. They are lucky to get a player like Hayward there.

I think he officially usurped Mark Blount as the worst contract Ainge ever signed. We got absolutely nothing from him in 3 seasons. Yikes.

Would not surprise me 1 iota if he finds his way to Indiana in a few months.
