I like a lot of the Pacers players, I think almost any mixture will help us strengthen our depth in different ways.

Loved Hayward, made our team exceptional when he was playing at or near his best, but most of our big moments during his tenure occurred w him injured. Replacing him with depth at 2 or 3 of center, shooting, scoring or playmaking will be helpful.

Yeah, Indiana actually matches up well with us.  They have the type of building block salaries that we don’t.

And if GH ends up there, I’m thrilled for him and his family.

#Pacers-#Celtics sign-and-trade update. Hayward wants to play in Indiana. He's told the #Celtics that.

IND offering Turner and McDermott

BOS wants Turner and Warren or Oladipo.

That's a big difference.

This puts DA in the drivers seat a bit more if Hayward said he wants to play in Indy.

Absolutely. They clearly have interest on both sides, so Danny looks to be in the Driver's seat. If we could get Turner and Warren that is a HUGE get, even if we have to give up some other minor assets like Semi, later picks, etc.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

No deals yet?!?!?! Y'all. Adam Silver fixed tampering. I cannot believe.

EDIT: hold on. Dragic back to Miami on 2 year $37.4M deal.
He deserves that money after how well he played in the playoffs. He was the guy to step up when Jimmy was down

100%
And I'm assuming the 2nd year is team option to keep their books clean for Giannis next offseason.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Indiana fans seemingly have no interest in giving up Warren.   But Turner with only Mcdermott seems to lopsided in Indy's favor.   Hayward is a much better player than Turner,  who kinda sucks.

Is this true? Granted I've only seen a limited sample size but Turner seems like a pretty solid option at center for us. A big guy who can block shots and step back and hit threes. He's hovered in the mid 30's % for his career. I don't think he was a great fit with Sabonis but could be a nice fit for our guys and what we need. Certainly seems like an upgrade over our current bigs (depending on Time Lord's continued development. A starting lineup of Turner, Tatum, Brown, Kemba and Smart sounds pretty fun.

Absolutely. As someone who also is begrudgingly across the country from his family due to his job, I can't fault a guy for wanting to go back home like this.

some people like turner,  some don't.    i don't think he's very good.  at least, not against big time players.    somethings kind of missing from his game.

Seems to be a feeling around Celtics forums that we always have to come out the victor in any deal; some times, gaining something when you could have had nothing is the win.

I’m sort of rooting for us to get Dipo.  Add TJ McConnell?

Theis
Tatum
Brown
Oladipo
Kemba

Sign Baynes with the MLE.  Ilyasova with the BAE or minimum.

Theis / Baynes / Williams
Tatum / Williams / Ilyasova
Brown / Nesmith
Oladipo / Smart
Kemba / Pritchard / McConnell
I'd be down, I love TJ McConnell. Great passer and a good pest on defence.

If Oladipo can return to form.. watch out. VO and Smart alongside the two Jays would be fearsome.
Didn't we just draft a very TJMcConnell-esque player in Pritchard?

Sort of. McConnell is a better defender, Pritchard is light years ahead as a shooter. McConnell also has valuable playoff experience

Well, it’s been 19 minutes since teams can talk to free agents.  Since the NBA is cracking down on tampering, teams will slow play it, at least officially.

Re:Mconnel = Pritchard...
I think they’re similar in that they are both total gamers. But one is more defensive specialist and the other a better shooter/playmaker.

After the farce that was last year's free agency period, or at least the beginning, I'm okay with this

GH really opted out of 34 million and took a gamble he will get paid??

I'm skeptical ...
