Wow, that ESPN article has Hayward rated 13th of all current free agents in terms of projected WARP (wins above replacement player) over the next 3 years.  I wonder if his agent saw this before advising him  ;)

Where is wood on the list?

I never thought a current NBA player would join Celtics Strong. Great to have you here, Christian Wood!

Where is wood on the list?
1. Anthony Davis 29.6
2. VanVleet 22.5
3. Christian Wood 12.7
4. Brandon Ingram 11.6
5. Davis Bertrans 11.5
6. Bogdan Bogdanovic 11.2
7. Malik Beasley 10.9
8. Danilo Gallinari 10.9
9. Derrick Jones Jr. 10.3
10. Hassan Whiteside 10.3
11. De'Anthony Melton 10.1
12. Langston Galloway 10.1
13. Gordon Hayward 8.9

I don't know about that analysis though.  Seem pretty suspect.  Maybe Danny has compromising photos of the author  ;)
Call me crazy but I’d prefer Hayward over a couple guys on that list

I like the top 6...then it gets weird.
Melton and Galloway seem odd, the other guys not so much.  After Hayward though there are some really strange people on the list.  I mean Jordan McLaughlin was 14th.  He was a rookie that played in just 30 games and he is being projected as the 14th best free agent over the next 3 years.  This is where formulas and metrics can get you into trouble (and maybe McLaughlin will be that good, but there is no way you could reasonably trust the data for a guy that played just 30 games in his career).

Turner playoff performance was pretty solid. Bam did better. But Turner stats was much better than Theis in comparison.  3s, rebounds, blocks

Cmon Danny get it done

Have you seen how Turner does against Embiid?  Please say no to Turner Danny.

Pretty ridiculous comparison when you're going with 4 games from Turner compared to 17 from Theis.

Good for Turner for putting up numbers when Indiana's best big man was out in 4 consecutive losses, I guess
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Theis was not impactful vs Raptors. That belonged to Timelord.

Theis played well against the 76ers. But Embiid and Horford played mediocre.

Against the Heat Theis was barely a factor. Just Bams .... not going to say

Turner will be an upgrade

Turner would be a minute upgrade. If Hayward is going to walk for nothing, do the deal. But Turner is insufferably weak

Yes. He is not a true 5. Or power forward. But not bad and good stretch skills

Olynyk ish but with actual length to do something

Celts team D will mask some of Turner deficiencies

It's pretty astonishing how few Indy fans actually are in favor of a Hayward for Turner trade. I know we are all fans of our players, but they seem to greatly underrate Hayward and think Turner is amazing. Funny enough, they are largely in favor of a Hayward for Oladipo trade, and that one might actually make us better.

I disagree
Oladipo is damaged goods. He is one more injury away from....

I would be also surprised if Celts get Sabonis instead of Turner

Sabonis is a tough customer

I understand the trepidation re: Oladipo, but if you look at game logs in the bubble he was averaging close to his typical career numbers.  I get that it’s doubtful he gets back to the pre-injury VO, but I wouldn’t write him off as a solid contributor.   I’d be good with him or McDermott (plus Turner).  And Sabonis is way out of reach I would think.

If this is true, and the hangup is a first, Danny better cave and do the deal.

Much better to get value for Hayward than to let him go.  Getting assets for Hayward instead of nothing is win.  No need to gouge the Pacers in the offing.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Agree, you're probably not getting much better than that. Is Turner perfect? No, but he's got some skill and maybe Brad can get more out of him, and closer in age to Tatum,Brown and Smart than Hayward now. Thats a strong core. Than getting McBuckets for bench help is great. And we'd have the TE and MLE to spend on more bench.
