Windhorst is reporting that OKC and the Suns are in talks about a Chris Paul trade. Logically it would be Oubre, Rubio and #10 for Paul.

If you add the OKC wants LaMelo ball rumor from Givony it’s easy to piece together a 3 team deal.

Suns get Paul

OKC gets Lamelo Ball and Rubio (likely looks for 3rd team for Rubio), and James Johnson

Min or GS gets Oubre, 10, 25, and a future thunder pick.

Yeah someone ran a poll where Paul was going. I predicted Suns. We’ll see.

Paul's contract is still a negative asset regardless of his play last season.  OKC would have to send some future draft picks back, but it's the Suns so then again...

I can’t see GS making a move like this for a win now team.  If they move the 2nd pick I would think it would be for more immediate help.

Here's a 3-way deal I'd be happy with. :P

Feel free to add pick(s) if you deem it necessary.

GS has already been linked in trade rumors to Oubre, none of the likely top 3 picks (Ball, Wiseman, Edwards) are great fits for their win now time line. From the major media draft rumors floating around it appears Hayes or Vassell could both be available at #10 and the with the #25 pick they will have an opportunity to add a cheap cost controlled role player to their roster. The future pick is an additional asset that they can potentially trade along with Wiggins and their future Min pick to land a star who becomes available during the season or next off-season.

Why would the Suns do that ? If I'm the Celtics, I love it, though.

Why would the C's do that.  CP is not any better than Kemba for that ridiculous contract.

Just a solid trade idea, by the way. TP. The only pause I have is that I think the Wolves want to get a better starter to help this win now with that top pick. Instead, in this deal, they are getting a meh starter and a few draft picks. It's like trading a dollar for a 50 cent piece and two quarters.

I don't think so. He was all NBA, and has only two years left.  Consensus has shifted.

Yeah, but I don't think enough to get the 10th pick.  Oubre and Rubio are enough of assets for Paul I think.  Oubre in particular is a very solid young player.  I mean he still hasn't had his 25th birthday and is coming off a season in which he averaged 18.7/6.5/1.5 with 1.3 steals with over 35% from 3.  He has gotten better every single season of his career and is already pretty solid starter level player and hasn't even hit his prime yet.  Rubio is also a pretty solid starter that gives you much of what Paul does but is younger, less injury prone, and much cheaper.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yeah I mean the Suns were having fun playing together last year so they should definitely try to put a stop to that and make their star player hate playing basketball again.

In all seriousness, on paper the Suns could be pretty good with CP3.  But I think it's always dicey taking something that works and then adding Chris Paul to it.  He kinda demands that the whole thing run according to his preferences.
