I'm seeing lots of rumours about us being interested in Drummond on social media.

Does anyone here have any interest in him? If so, what would you give up for him?

I see both the positives and negatives for Drummond. He's been the best rebounder in the NBA for 5 years, he's a solid passer for an inside power-big, he's an improving passer and he's shown flashes of defensive ability. However, he's a non-shooter, turnover-prone, not as good at defence as he should be and is completely owned by Embiid.

Anyone interested in the hometown kid? It would probably cost Hayward, which makes me not want to do the deal to be honest. I view him as more Clint Capela than Rudy Gobert

Some times he shows up on both sides of the court other times he is only an offense threat.

I think of him as an rich man's Kanter. He has better offense and defense potential but still limited.

Yeah, his defensive inconsistency is a killer.

No interest.
Me either, just seeing a lot about him. Think we can find someone better for less

Zero interest.

He’ll command a max and he’s not worthy of anywhere close to one.

He's basically only a slightly better version of Kanter that'll get paid like 5-6 times more than Kanter did.

Drummond would be a good player on Marcus Smart type money. Problem is he'll want double that (or more) and Drummond isn't worth that much.

I understand he wants and expects a max deal, but is anyone actually going to give him that type of money? Especially now with both the financial concerns of the league and the way the game has evolved away from players with his skill set?

Money-wise? No. For what he does? Yes.

Under brad stevens it's a bad fit. Look at how kanter was utilized this post season, specifically against miami. He was an afterthought, not that I blame stevens exactly because kanter sucks. But that's not why stevens was reluctant to use him more, it's because kanter is not a 3 pt shooter.

Because jump shooting is everything to brad stevens. Doesn't matter if everyone who's ever won in this league knows  that attacking the basket is the way to win in this league, brad is just smarter than everyone... Even if he's never won anything....

Someone always does. Luckily I feel like GMs are continually being smarter these days. But I could still see it happening.

The problem with Drummond isn’t just that he can’t space.  It’s that he can’t space, isn’t a greater passer, and is an unengaged defender.

Exactly. I have a hard time believing anyone is going to give him max or near max money. Especially with the cap going down now too. There's going to be a severe market correction on Drummond.

Drummond is fine as matching money if Boston needs to salary-dump a guy in a three-way trade (and I'm nearly-specifically talking about Andrew Wiggins). If Hayward's going to Golden State, something like 2, Wiggins' deal, and a pick from Boston going to Cleveland while Drummond and 5 (plus maybe one of Osman or Nance) go to Boston is workable.

He could be a rotation big on a one-year flier contract no problem, but the real appeal would be the salary dump and draft pick.

Will any teams actually offer Drummond the max? I’m not so sure if he has another up and down season

Depends on the money we’re talking about. At Gordon Hayward money? No thanks. At Marcus Smart money? I’d be interested.

If Drummond is your best player, your team isn’t going to be very good (much like with Smart). An engaged Drummond is one of the better bigs around in my opinion while a lazy Drummond is frustrating. When he’s the best player on the team and has to set the pace, I think that’s something that works against him. Idk, maybe he’s not a natural leader. But I think being around guys like Kemba and Tatum and also, playing for games that matter (instead of for the pistons or Cavs lol) will have us getting the good version of Drummond more often than not.
