DeMarcus Cousins look good in a recent workout video...now, I bet he will sign with the Lakers on a one year contract, if not, think it wouldn’t hurt to bring him in if Kanter leaves..if he lost it, then just release him

He was never a great defender before all his injuries.

I think at this point it'd be like adding a worse version of Kanter who is more likely to get hurt.

The Celts need a guy who is less injury prone and more likely to be able to defend a pick and roll without being a liability on offense.  Cousins isn't a great bet to spend a roster slot on.

I suppose offering him a vet minimum contract couldn't hurt, but I don't think he actually has anything left to give. Injuries have most likely sapped him of any mobility rendering him unplayable except in the most narrow of circumstances.

He’s not really similar to Kanter.  He’s got 3PT range, he’s a good passer, and he played good defense when he was engaged.

I have no idea what he’s got left, but it’s more than Poirier and almost anybody else making the minimum.

I wanted him 4 years when Sacramento finally decided to ship him off.

Now, he’s not a difference-maker. For the minimum, of course you take him with open arms for the (slim) chance he puts the pieces back together (mentally and physically).

That said, he’s not coming here for the minimum. Zero chance he leaves LeBron/Davis/Rondo for us. Is he worth the MLE or whatever else we can offer? Meh.

Yes, the Celtics definitely need more guys who were injured and rode the bench on their way to watching their team lose in the finals. That's definitely what has been holding us back.
