It wasn't always pretty, there were heart stopping moments, there were mistakes in execution, especially near the end when Miami really applied pressure. But it's a playoff game, it's supposed to be hard. This time we faced up to adversity and came out on top. There were lapses, like there have been in each game, but tonight we probably had the fewest lapses of the 3 games. Maybe people thought we were going to thrash them by 30 but hey they're a good team, they don't have any quit in them and tonight we took a leaf out of their book from a grittiness point of view. Game 4 we will need to have even less lapses. We crushed them in the paint 60-36 and "only" had 9 3s out of 26 attempts.
I've always felt that Gordon doesn't need to score for us to be a better team, because he makes everyone better. Right now he was probably only 60-70% but he made us look crisper and more fluid. He's decisive in everything he does and that's what we need.
JB was super aggressive early and didn't let up the whole game. JT played within the flow of the game, didn't hog the ball, didn't dribble the air out of it other than maybe 3 or 4 times in the whole game, and Kemba was solid. Marcus had a typical Smartacus game, solid on defense, sometimes exasperating on offense but you take the good with the bad and he iced some key free throws at the end. GWill and Enes gave us some good minutes. Theis was the only one who I thought didn't have a great game, but he was able to contribute.
It's going to have to be another team effort on Wednesday, at least it will be a positive vibe around here heading into Game 4
