30 p0ints and 15 rebounds,5assists ,3 steals 2 blocks--That's superstar level play--
His level of play since all star game and into playoffs has him the best player on the court.
Plays both ends of court and its how he gets his points,
Now his passing has developed,.
What more can he do.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
He could show up in the 4th quarter or OT. Don't get me wrong he was great all night, but he was about as un-clutch as any player could be when we needed him most. Those are fantastic stats, though.

What did he say?  Actually.  Never mind.  I can't stand that guy.  His lebron love is just nauseating.

Leonard and George must not be superstars either given their play late in the games against the Nuggets.

I’m a huge fan of JT. I think he will eventually be a superstar in this league, the stats obviously say so. But to be a real superstar, he needs to get the calls his way during crucial parts of the game, and he needs to constantly win games for his team as well. I’m so happy to see his game expanding, specially on the defensive end. Add to that, he has shown a willingness to set up his teammates which has led to a bump on his assists. He’s getting there. Once the refs start to respect him, he’ll even be more unstoppable.

I think he needs to stop looking for the foul in the act of shooting until he gets that respect.  I've seen him toss up a few shots thinking he should get the foul and when he doesn't, it's just a bad shot.  In close games like these those can add up.

He's not a superstar, at least not yet.

His problem is that everyone is telling him he is a superstar, and he ends up trying to do too much at the end of games sometimes. Like last night.

I was supremely disappointed that the last minutes was basically 2 man basketball, with guys like Jaylen Brown standing in the corner.

I put it on the coach as much as the two players for that to happen, repeatedly, probably costing us game 1.

Lets ask Deuce.    Jaylen looks like a superstar dad.

Marcus Smart a defensive superstar--!!!
We miss Gordon an all star teammate.
No pressure Kemba take the day off.

I had zero problems with Tatum's play last night. Even that end of regulation three was an okay (not great) shot. Him and Smart were the two players that kept us in the game.

Tatum let Butler abuse him on that "And 1" towards the end, though.

Star? Tatum's a bonafide one.

Superstar? Not quite yet.

IMO a superstar would've found a way to keep Butler from driving to the basket and getting the hoop AND the foul.

Butler delivered KEY baskets and plays down the stretch....Tatum did not, at least in last night's game.

He did have one horrible shot selection in that 30 foot air ball.  Too bad he didn't realize that from that "heat check" that his attempted game winner wasn't as high a probability as when he's on.  But, he's 22 and I absolutely loved his dunk attempt.  He was not going to shy away from a key moment.  He has the heart of a superstar for sure!  Watch out in game 2.

I'd agree with your takes.  It's ok to start with the ball in their hands, but they should drive and dish, if necessary.  That Kemba possession with 40 seconds to go was really painful.
