Quote
The Raptors spent much of the first half in a box-and-one defense on Walker. In that setup, four players are in a zone set while a fifth shadowed Walker wherever he went. Walker took just three first-half shots and was held scoreless, but the defense leaves vulnerabilities elsewhere, and the Celtics did a good job of slinging the ball around and finding open shooters.

But after halftime the Raptors mostly stopped playing a box-and-one, and Walker was still unable to find a rhythm. He finished with 5 points on 2-for-11 shooting.

“I thought I had a few good looks but it just wasn’t enough to help my teammates out tonight,” he said. “Just a bad offensive night for me, terrible offensive night for me.”

That has to be some sort of all time league record For fewest pts in a game after playing 50 minutes

didn't watch the game but knowing that he played badly and we only lose in 2 OT somehow makes me feel optimistic.

It's amazing that one bad game can cause a fanbase to turn on a player. Nevermind the fact that he was the subject to questionable calls throughout the game like that whack on his drive at the end.

People get upset after games. You're only as good as your last game. One game - Game 7 - will determine whether the Celtics had an awesome season or a crap one. It will determine whether the players are great or are hacks. Just the way it is in fandom. But I have faith in Kemba. He'll come good.  :police:
A loss likely won't change my perception of the players, but yeah it'll make this season absolutely suck. Waiting for more than one year for the Celtics to lose in the second round again when they could've trounced the opposition is not fun >:(

I guess that's what they mean when they say the season comes down to one game

If Kemba gets the foul call and makes 1 of his 2 free throws at the end of the game, everyone calls him a hero and praises him for driving with confidence despite having a poor night so I think it's very biased by the final result of the game.

Officiating was very questionnable this game, I think.

No it is the other way around.

if that had happened then people would have been biased cause the winning show would have covered his bad performance. Cause regardless of the result he was bad if not very bad.

Having said that I believe game 7nth will be his best postseason game

I’m more concerned about Tatum. Empty calories box score. His 6 turnovers killed especially the two at the end.

I think some of those at the end was players were tired at the end of the game and were not moving as much without the ball more often then earlier.

Plus the pass to the coach standing on the court.

Brad Stevens should have argued that call. Nick Nurse was literally on the court, near the action of play. Shouldn't that have been a technical foul or something on Nurse?

I see it as a sign of desperation...he has to resort to those tactics because he knows we're the better team.

Last night, was the second in three games, where Kemba was a no show offensively. A player of his offensive ability, needs to impose his will on the game, and can't be so passive that he lets the defense dictate his play.

If Toronto is doing something special to prevent Kemba from scoring (box and 1 defense), then Stevens needs to counter, and figure out how to get his guy going.

I have to wonder if Kemba's knee is still bothering him.  Either that, or he's trying too hard not to step on anyone toes.

Regardless, he needs to play better, plain and simple.

Totally, plus kneeling right on the line of the court where out of bounds is should be banned as well. They should be told a certain distance to be behind the line of play. He is clearly trying to distract the players vision in his area and it should be a technical.

Could Brad Stevens have used a coaches challenge on Kemba’s drive at the end of regulation? He was clearly pushed in the back and was fouled, but nothing was called. I don’t think coaches can use the challenge to ask for foul, if it wasn’t called on the court. My confusion goes back to game 2, when Nick Nurse used his coaching challenge on the Siakam elbow that sent Smart to the floor. Nick Nurse challenged that it was not a foul on Siakam. However, the refs used the replay and determined there was a foul on Smart instead. Well, isn’t that using replay to call a foul on a player, that was not called on the court?
