Missed the 1st half, what’s cookin’ campers?

well I saw only the 2nd quarter, and we were mediocre at best, and extremely lucky to be tied at half.  We are doing just enough to stay in the game.  The def effort isn't as good as it was in the first 3 games, but Raps are shooting poorly except for Ibaka and FVV from 3.

Nothing good, at this point. Optimists are saying, "We've played like crap but we're right in it." Pessimists (like me) are saying, "If they don't get their heads out of their butts, they're one good Toronto run from getting blown out."

There's probably truth to both.

Kemba with only 6 shots in the first half. He's got to be more aggressive offensively and be a bigger part of the offense when our other guys don't necessarily have it going.
Ditto

I feel like Robert needs 20-25 minutes per game for the foreseeable future, if he has the wind for it and he stays out of foul trouble.  Theis has struggled in the playoffs and Kanter won't have matchups in his favor for the rest of the way unless by some incredible twist of fate we run into the Nuggets.

Theis is better for stretching the floor, opening some space for guys like Kemba driving to the rim, but yeah, Rob gives us presence in the paint we need now.

It's hard to call Theis a floor spacer when he's 4-21 from three in the playoffs and teams are ignoring him on the perimeter, though.  He needs to make enough of those to force defenses to respect him, and he's not.

I guess that's the plan, but he himself hesitated a lot. It was proved statistically that this hesitation in general lowers the percentage immensely, he is far better as a 3p shooter. Should just go for it.

We played poorly and didn't show the effort I was expecting after game 3. We're very lucky to be tied. If we don't pick it up in the second half we deserve to lose.

Yup.  If this is the effort level we put forth I actually hope we lose.  It's not just the quantity of offensive rebounds we've given up, it's how as well.  That rebound Thomas got was infuriating.  5 Celtics just standing around.

They were "zone rebounding," which worked about as well as their zone D has.

Brown should have all the excitement out of his system by the second half....

Brown needs to put up or shut up. Dude fell asleep at the end of Game 3, and he's stayed asleep this whole game so far.

I think throwing all the blame at Brown for that last second shot has pretty much been proven bs.

It was all his fault, but he wasn't really alert on that play, either.

Nope, but feel free to believe that if you want.

See my edit.

ok gottcha

Cs not playing well, lucky to be tied at the half. They need to ride Tatum.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2906046-celtics-gordon-hayward-returning-to-bubble-unlikely-to-play-soon-with-injury

So Hayward is due back in the bubble tomorrow night, where he has a four day quarantine before resuming activities. But Brad says that he won't play anytime soon.

I wonder what the logic is of having him return now? Did Robyn already have the baby? Thought that would've been known already if so.

So I'm reposting this from before the game. What's everyone thinking regarding him coming back now? Can't find anything about his wife already giving birth, though she was supposed to be due in early September. Just doesn't seem to make sense if he's going to be turning right back around and going out for his baby's birth - unless he's close to returning.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I thought that Langford would be a good matchup in the series but I guess Brad feels otherwise. We need some energy!!!

Nurse so far is showing why he won COY over Stevens.

Incredibly stressful game.  Every possession seems like a must score or a must stop!

I think Langford is available but injured with torn ligaments in his shooting hand.
