Lol that's a proper layup. You always lift the right leg for the right-handed layup. But guarantee they're going to call that crap. Typical nonsense. Just an unfortunate play.
I mean if they are going to call incidental elbows to the face, which they always do, then they are going to call incidental knees to the groin. It is an unfortunate play, that doesnt mean its not a foul.
The elbow in the face is a foul - certainly not a flagrant foul, but a foul - because it's not legal guarding position, as you don't play defense with your elbows up like that.
But this is different. This is proper technique for a layup. You aren't expected to change your technique when a defensive player is not in legal defensive position as Lowry was.
I'm talking about an offensive player who hits a defensive player when he's going up for a layup. its called a flagrant all the time. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather it not be, but I'm a little surprised given how they call flagrants that the knee wasn't one.
