You make Heat much worse, so why would they do that?

My idea:

Embiid for Towns, straight up.  Towns would fit in much better with Ben Simmons. Embiid would improve Wolves defense, which is awful.

Both guys could use for a change of teams.

This makes a lot of sense. Simmons/Towns pick and roll/pop would be extremely difficult to cover.
With Towns as the ballhandler possibly , Simmons is not a good halfcourt creator by any stretch of imagination.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

It could have sense but it won't happen soon as Russel has joined his good friend in Minnesota (nd they dream of the young gun big 3 with Booker). It shows Wolves still put all their chips on KAT...

But it would change the dynamic in the two teams, Phily wouldn't be that much a deadly defense, but they need moore spacing... After Philly maybe wouldn't do it also because KAT somehow have much moore than Embid the picture of a very good stat player who can't lead his team to playoff.

I know Woj said that Philly will probably keep both Simmons and Embiid this offseason, but what if this package is on the table?

Wiggins + Eric Paschall + #2 + Wolves 2021 first (top 3 protected in 2021, unprotected in 2022) for Embiid or Simmons

I mean, Philly is clearly a dysfunctional team. If they like someone at #2, then maybe they pull the trigger.

Neither....

Josh Richardson said it perfectly, in the post-game comments after we broke out the brooms on them.

J Rich spoke of ACCOUNTABILITY......

The NEXT coach needs to stop coddling certain players and have them develop their games....

With PROPER SPACING that comes from a reliable JUMPER you don't need to move EITHER of them...........

If Philly wanted to make a move, getting the second pick could only be helpful insofar as it sets them up to compete better in the next few seasons (especially if they keep Embiid and trade Simmons). Anthony Edwards (or Wiseman or Ball) and Wiggins will not help them compete now, and it would give the Sixers three of the top 5 worst contracts in the NBA in Wiggins, Harris, and Horford. There is no way they do that unless they are diverting Wiggins to a third team to get a high level competitor back.

One trade that may make sense is a three team deal where Wiggins and the #2 (or the Minny pick) go to OKC for Paul. But then the Sixers still need a reliable backup guard shot creator because Paul's health in unreliable and they probably still need to get rid of Horford--maybe to the Kings with a pick for Barnes.

Then, Philly would have Paul-Richardson-Barnes-Harris-Embiid with Milton, Korkmaz, etc. off the bench. That team is only "scary" if Paul is unable to unlock Embiid fully on the NBA.

Embiid ...

honestly who would move Simmons first?

If 76ers had simmons instead of Embiid, I'm sure they win at least one if not two in this series

Embiid value has tanked quite a bit and its best to at least keep him for half a season, raise his value before considering to trade him

Embiid and it’s not even close (and I don’t like Simmons).

With Brown finally out, 76ers will give their new coach a year to figure out how to manage them both. Depending on how year one goes, one might be a candidate for trade in the following offseason.

Yeah, I think you keep Simmons and look to move on from Embiid.

I also think they'll try to run it back one more season under a new coach to see if they can salvage this.

They may very well give it another season, but they should probably just pull the trigger on something like an Embiid for Beal deal now and have a much better balanced line-up going into next season. It also prevents them from having to move on from Al as he would slot very well into the C spot for Philly.

I understand that this may not seem like enough for Philly. Maybe you expand the deal and add Bryant from WAS and Scott from Philly to even it up a bit. But I think it's time to let Simmons sink or swim as a leader; whatever is going on in Philly right now won't allow him to do that.

If I was the GM for the 76ers my end goal would be a team built around Simmons. For all of his short comings he really is a 3pt shot away from being the ideal modern NBA player. The best plan is probably to make a minor move this off-season to bring in a reliable vet PG. For the fun blow it up in the off season plan I have the following.

Trade Embiid to Bulls for

 LaVine, Markkanen, #4 , and a 2021 top 3 protected 1st

at #4 I would draft Hayes

With just that trade the 76ers 2021 lineup looks like

C Horford
PF *Simmons
SF Harris
SG Richardson
PG *Lavine
6th Markkenen
7th Thybull
8th Hayes

* Simmons is primary ball handler

This allows 76ers to play small with Horford on the bench and Simmons at small ball 5, it allows them to go big but 4 out with Markkenen at 5.

I'd move Embiid as well, but I'd rather see them move Simmons to the Celtics. :P

Don't think they can get fair value for either one of them though. Unless they are afraid that Embiid's trade value is likely to go down next season due to injuries, I'd probably wait till the summer of 2021. A high lotto pick in 2021 will probably be more valuable than the #1 pick in 2020.

Another trade idea I've seen is trading Tobi + #21 to the Wizards for Wall + #9 (or something along these lines).

Wall is on the books till 2023 (one less year compared to Tobi). Personally speaking, I wouldn't do it. Wall was a super explosive PG. He relied on his athleticism. Chances are he won't be the same player ever again after rupturing his Achilles tendon. Not to mention, he's a below average shooter, hence he wouldn't be a good fit next to Simmons/Embiid.

If I was the GM for Philly, I would do everything in my power and the next coach's power to keep both.  Get Simmons shooting 500 3s a day and get him comfortable taking 3-4 a game.  If he could even be a 30% shooter from 3 it would solve w whole lot of their problems.  Both Simmons and Embiid are really unique players and are huge challenges to guard and battle against.  I wouldn't give up one of them until you literally have tried EVERYTHING with the new coach.

In trying to come up with a trade, I'm reminded of the disparity between the player salaries. Your basically either a max type player or making just above the minimum. The non-rookie $8-12 players are few and far between. Did the Celtics start this trend with Pierce, Garnett, and Allen? Sign 2-3 max players, and fill out the roster with rookies, role players or veterans willing to sign under market contracts in order to try to win.

if i had to pick a player to keep, id pick Embiid.

If I had to pick a player to trade, Id also pick Embiid.  I think youd get more back for him.

People rightfully point to Embiids injury problems, but Simmons hasnt exactly been picture of health either

I also think that with Embiid, a lot of his flaws, namely attitude and conditioning, can be changed with the right coach.

The biggest problem I have with Simmons is that he appears to be mentally fragile.  The boston crowd clearly got into his head in the playoffs a couple years ago, and now he wont even attempt jumpshots.  You can call that a coaching problem all you want, but hes a grown man and knows what his flaws are, if he doesnt have the sac to start firing away in games bc of fear of embarrassment then thats pretty alarming

What about Wiggins for Horford + protected pick?

I don't think Wiggins is in GS long range plans.
GS would use Al's skills.
Wiggins would shoot down the stretch. Philly misses Butler.
