Don't think they'll trade any of them this off-season. How about a deal around Tobias Harris and CJ McCollum though?

The Sixers are in desperate need for a PG. The Blazers could have a use for a wing, plus CJ isn't an ideal fit next to Lillard. If the Sixers were willing to include Thybulle in the deal, I bet the Blazers would pull the trigger. Thybulle would be the perfect fit next to Lillard.

Philly in: CJ + Hezonja (salary filler)
Portland in: Tobi + Thybulle

Feel free to add pick(s) if you deem it necessary.

I wouldn't do that trade if I were the Sixers.  Thybulle is a keeper.  They need his disruptive capability on defense.

Yeah, on second thought I wouldn't do it either for the Sixers. How about if the Blazers include Anfernee Simons instead of Hezonja?

Alternatively, CJ for Tobi straight up is a valid trade (salary-wise), but I think the Blazers would ask for a sweetener.

Anyway, the initial idea was a deal centered around CJ and Tobi. It seems to me that both teams might be interested in such a possibility.

If you can find a proven win-now player for Simmons that fits with Embiid, then it's an easy call for me.
Embiid is a special player and can be the best player on the court in any playoff game.
His on- and off-ratings are off the charts. He's by far their best player.

A trade with the Wizards that's suggested (Simmons + Horford for Wall and Beal, perhaps add Richardson and Bertans (S+T) to that) would be fantastic for the 76ers.

Wall - Beal - Harris - Bertans - Embiid would be a line-up to be feared.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I just don't know how on earth a team could take on Wall's contract without being 1000% sure he is back to the old John Wall. The dude is owed over $171M through the next 4 years. I know that pre-injury Wall was a phenomenal player, but if he has lost any of his speed (likely with injury and age), then his game could go down hill quick. When the new season begins, he will have not played an NBA game for over two years.

I get that Beal is the real prize here and that Horford's contract is certainly iffy, as well, but Wall needs to prove himself on the court before another team will take him on imo.

If they wouldn’t take Kemba, what about Jaylen for Simmons- Simmons plays point on offense and the four on defense . We give up a wing but still have Kemba, Tatum and a hopefully healthy Hayward.

I don't know how anyone could give up big talent for Embiid. When healthy, Embiid has the potential to be one of the top 5 players in the league.

The problem is that "when healthy" bit. Night after night, you never know if it's going to be his last game of the season.

No thank you. Trading a guy who continues to make huge leaps on offence for a guy who has barely improved on that end his whole career? Not interested

I think the first thing they'll do fire Brown and then try to trade Horford+pick(s) for a piece that makes more sense. Buddy Heild seems to be unhappy in Sac, and Sac could use a stretch big to put next to bagley so maybe Horford+pick(s) for Heild?

Then if THAT doesnt work maybe you try trading Simmons or Embiid. By guess is you try Simmons for Lillard/Beal/Booker basically whatever high level guard you can get.

I would think Sac could do better than that for Hield. Horford is one of the worse contracts in the league, it would probably take a lot of picks to convince Sac to do it.

Not sure what direction the Kings will go now that Vlade is gone

I also don't think Simmons & Tatum could co-exist very well.   Jaylen & Tatum are complementary.  I don't think Simmons & Tatum exactly are.

Between the two...I'd move Embiid.

Simmons has clear weaknesses...but you'd get more back for Embiid and Simmons is younger and in better shape and all that.

Embiid for Steven Adams plus SGA and filler was scoffed at before....maybe still, but picks thrown in...neither team does it imo.

PG:  Simmons
SG:  SGA
SF:  T. Harris
PF:  Horford
C:   Adams

Let's Horford play outside as a 3-shooting 4.

It's tempting, but I wouldn't do it. Brown has come a long way since his early days with the C's. When he entered the league he was just a promising slasher. Four years later, he's a great off-ball player as well! He's shooting 41.9% in catch-and-shoot 3s in 4.1 attempts per game. Brown and Tatum have great chemistry on both sides of the court. It's not just that they are scoring points. They make the C's one of the most versatile defensive teams around the league.

Don't get me wrong, Simmons is an even more versatile defender than Brown. If we can somehow put Simmons next to Tatum, Brown and Smart, the C's would become the best defensive team in the NBA!

Smart - Brown - Hayward - Tatum - Simmons

Five wings switching every ball screen on D! This would be an amazing team!

Ironically I think that would leave Philly as the team best suited to beat us. A monster inside with Embiid & a fast guard who can shoot from anywhere - Kemba used to light us up before he joined us

Good for them. At the end of the day, we'd become a better team than we are now, plus we'd have arguably the best young core in the NBA.

Kemba + Theis + our 3 firsts for Simmons + Scott (salary filler)

Don't know about you, but I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.
