Man Lillard is just something else. Crazy deep threes, (...)
Remember Lillard's crazy deep 3 that led to an easy dunk by Brown in transition? Lillard is amazing, but shooting from 30+ feet can easily backfire whenever the shot doesn't go in. Longer shots usually yield longer rebounds, hence it's more likely for the opposing team to score easy points in transition.

Lillard is fun to watch. No doubt about that. If you ask me, he ain't playing smart/winning basketball.

Anyway, I enjoyed the game. Didn't watch Friday's game against the Bucks. It was great to see the C's back in action!

What I didn't enjoy is watching Nurkic score 30 points in 32 minutes. Theis was all over the place on D. If he cannot handle Nurk, it's safe to say that he cannot handle Embiid either. Not that we didn't already know about that. It's just that we may face Embiid in the first round.

I mean his team literally went to the western conference finals last year so I'd say his basketball is at least somewhat winning.....

Meanwhile SA about to completely blow their game v. Memphis.

SA should hang on.

Sorry -- I jinxed.  SA blowing it.

No u didn’t. S A with the win

If some team could beat MEM in the play in that would move pick up from 17 to 14, even luckier if they move up during the lottery and the pick rolls over into next year.

Good for them. That was probably their absolute ceiling though. After all, they got swept in the WCF. It's possible that they won't even make the playoffs this season. Right now they are 2.5 wins behind the Grizzlies.

edit: here's the play I was talking about

They got to the ECF despite starting Meyers Leonard , Enes Kanter, Al-Farouq Aminu and Mo Harkless at different stages. They also lost to the best team of the 2010s. No shame in that. They also have had one of the most injury-riddled rosters in the competition, yet almost solely thanks to Lillard (and somewhat to McCollum) they're still in the playoff hunt.

Lillard plays winning basketball - his teammates don't

See how quickly their coach took a timeout??
What's a timeout?

What's funny is that the Blazers fans are saying the exact same thing about us - that Stevens takes timeouts right away while Stotts doesn't. It really is in the eye of the beholder. Or maybe fans are just an over-anxious bunch who want timeouts immediately at the slightest sign of trouble

Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Ha, that is quite funny! I feel like Brad gets better with stopping runs later in games, but sometimes it's too late

Man Lillard is just something else. Crazy deep threes, played excellent defense on Tatum who is like 6 inches taller than him.

No shame in this being a close game to me. I know the c's had a big lead but that was partly  just due to unsustainably hot 3 point shooting, I think at one point they were like 9/14 to start the game.

Jaylen with a huge fourth, literally didn't miss. 6/6 from the field for 16. Couple nice defensive plies and a tip out rebound.

Also Kemba looks great.

this is not rocket science...he should have taken Liliard inside. Play him in the post...pass out of any double team.

Kept Kemba on his restriction.  Only 6 games left till the playoffs -- I'm pretty good with him playing 22 minutes till then.  If JT truly can play to his capability -- C's look pretty tough with JT, JB, KW and GH.  And Marcus.

I sure hope that MARCUS is not an afterthought to you. lol

Is 8 assists a career high for Tatum?

His growth as a passer is very important for our future, so I'm encouraged by that.

It felt like 3/4 of those were to Jaylen. It was basically Tatum gets doubled or pressured, and he made the correct play to get it to the open guy who seemed to be Jaylen this game. Its big this season for Tatum to be able to find the right guy when he's doubled.

I was right!

I actually believe that McCollum has the higher basketball IQ between the two, whereas Lillard is more fun to watch. I guess it's a matter of preference though. There's no possible way to measure these things.

Don't get me wrong, Lillard is amazing. Talent-wise, he's one of the best players around the league.

I dunno, McCollum is their worst defender. Big indictment of his defence that they try and hide him more than old Melo

Melo actually seems like one of their better defenders.  And I'm not calling him a good defender, either.  That roster is just that bad defensively.
