12th pick. Gives me enough reason to do crazy things, as usual. LOL

Wish we are starting this today (I guess it's tonight for all of y'all there).
Trade season is open. You can start negotiations with other players right away.

Just no trade announcements until just before the draft starts. I will let you know if trade is approved. Just not going public until before the draft.

No, I think I'm going to play this along like the last time, with no trades.

Sometimes when I do trades, I make it worse.

I’m the Lakers, gross. Guess it evens out with getting to be the Celtics in the last draft.
One of the most ironic usernames to get the Lakers, lol

4th pick is fine by me. Was hoping for top 8-ish, so I'm happy. I must say, I've been quite lucky with these drafts so far. 3rd pick last year, and 4th pick this year. Wish that luck followed me to poker ;D.

This is a problem. . .

I picked 12, but I only have 7 names on my board that I can consider "this guy can win the league" guys.

I might be done before we start. LOL.

I’m fine with 8th.  I’m playing this one for fun, rather than to win, so my guess is you guys will see a lot of reaches from me and a few guys on my “do not draft” list.

Yeah, me too, just like with the Historic Draft.

Of course I want to win, but I'd like to build a team around an identity and I'd want my players to reflect that. I'd also would like to build a team that fits and gels together with their skill set.

So I might take some reaches myself.

13th pick (and 16th overall if I read the rules correctly) for me. Not complaining, but that means that I probably have to make a strategy right away instead of going BPA. I'm happy that we start with one round a day.

Maybe some players at the top of the draft get the exact guy they want and then get bored the following days, because they have their strategy all laid out for themselves  ;D  .

Or maybe they have a head start and keep on planning and know which players I'm going to take before I do...

I think the reaches make these things heaps of fun. Especially when it’s just the 2000s - so many fun little gems to look at.

I think I’m going to stand pat at 5th, but if anyone wants any of my other picks send me an offer! Man, can’t wait to get started

With a lesser talent pool, I think reaches will be more acceptable early on, compared to the historical draft last year.

Pick #14.  Definitely need to adjust strategy there.  Snake is not the worst place to be, though.

This is going to be a lot of fun.

You have the 13th and 16th.

The draft board is now up to date.

I'm fine with 2nd, it's a great spot to pick! Looking to move down a few slots though.

Lol really? I have 12 players who're in that category by my valuations, you'll be fine

To be fair reaches are highly subjective. For example I thought that picking Moses Malone in the 2nd round (top 24 pick) was a slight reach but a lot of people thought otherwise, it just varies from person to person. But yeah I think there will be more "reach picks" for everyone in this draft (the differing criterias participants use will probably lead to disagreement over some picks).

Moses isn't eligible in this draft so I thought it'd be okay for me to mention him as an example, I'll delete the post if it isn't though.
